I guess you haven't been following the reddit.com/r/outreachhpg community and the discussion how the EXE is a POS.

those sound like quitter words

If it's in the Solo query it might be the case that you already have a high assault elo.
ELO doesn't really care what you wielding, even if it's a Stock Victor with Basic skills.
It will match you up based upon how you performed before.
So if you constantly play, let's say a dakka wolf with 800dmg and 5 kills, you'll get a hard time if you switch to a "not so good" assault.
Afaik, elo is per weightclass. It used to get me when i play not so good heavies while my elo mostly is represented by TBR and HBR.

wasn't it said in the last townhall that elo doesn't work in soloq at all/

anyway it's usually wrong and always useless to blame your team (i.e. matchmaking) in your performance
i.e. unless for fun of drama, other than that it's useless. if you died with low damage and no kills it's your personal fault and your training officer will be mad at you and say you that you will never be a clan warrior (:

you were asked where you are shot (front, back, what part of the mech (ct i suppose) etc) when you die seemingly being one hit knocked out, you would better answer that if you want to get some useful piece of advice

IIrc it was said that ELO is only affected by your Win-Loss-Ratio not your actual performance. And that it will be changed in the near future to better fit the actual skill of a pilot and not his affiliation to the winning team. Since the Match Maker tries to keep your Win-Loss-Ratio at 1.00 to keep the game enjoyable for everyone, that may change things quite a bit.

elo is almost never affected by your performance in most of the decent elo systems, that stuff is very hard to measure properly; it's always win-loss rating weighted over the rating of your enemies and teammates (so not every win or loss is worth the same)

also mm doesn't try to keep your winrate at 1.0, it just tries to make a game where you have ~50% chance to win

also the quote from the notes

> Need to revisit ELO before too. ELO only really only goes up in group, else it stays roughly the same. Russ and Paul have been talking redoing the ELO system from scratch.
http://mwomercs.com/...s-625-done-live

so it basically doesn't work properly at all

Well, I am currently playing. I like every map, honestly. They're all pretty badass.

My playing style is pretty aggressive, if I don't have a target I find one.
I like flanking, and getting in shots from a distance.
Mostly, I have been having a lot of trouble with Matchmaking,
it seems like every team I get put on loses. It's really distressing.
I do enjoy being in a group with other people, but, I rarely play with people who don't want to NASCAR.

My Mech's are mostly Energy weapons, but, I am starting to enjoy using ballistic too.
I am not "great" with LRM's, but I do believe they have a spot in the game, but, they should be moderated to an extent...
maybe.

Are you using MASC often? It can really help you torso twist as fast as a mech half your weight, when it's active.

I'm assuming you like to close distances with your opponents quickly. That's a HUGE problem if you're using a Gauss Rifle, since that thing is prone to exploding if hit hard enough, and it will take out the arm it's in. It's also not a good short range weapon.

However, by now, I assume you have about 1 Million C-Bills in your account. That should be enough for you to customize the variants you have, and use some of the builds being recommended here.

The mech is not an easy one to use. Especially not for a new player (If you have less than 500 matches, you are still very new.)

I'm still kinda fresh off long long long retirement from the game. (Back in beta where stuff was massively unbalanced) I haven't touched a assault cause I don't like how they play. And are almost worthless in cw attacks

If you are using the EXE-D, you may want to try 6 CERSML and 2 CERPPC, 2 SRM, have the two PPCs in the right torso, high mounted, and the lasers in the arms, you may need to get another omni-pod, not sure. Makes a good sniper and if anything gets close them use the small lasers, best I have done was 1200 dmg, 5 kills and 5 assists.

until the shadowcat and arctic cheetah, a direwolf will always gimp a drop deck, the IS on the other hand can field a KGC, two heavies and still round it out with an ecm pirates bane. Thus you see far more assault rushes on the IS side, since clans usually bring only two or three direwolves. The AC looks like a proper light though, and the shadowcat looks like a very dangerous mech for a 45 tonner, so I imagine we will be seeing more clan assaults soon.

The DWF is only considered a gimp because the clans have TBRs, SCRs, HBRs, and EBJs. All bringing assault level firepower, so why use the 100 tons when a 65 tonner can do it? It's not the same with the IS.

but only the TBR can sort of tank the damage, and none of them can truly match the Dire's insane firepower effectively, the DWF is also quite slow in comparison, which can be an issue when attacking. I've seen more warhawks than direwolves because of this. The fact that Clans are getting a 45 tonner that isnt kinda **** like the Ice Ferret, and a pretty ballin' light, as well as the weight saving EBJ, clan decks should in theory become more diverse.

Well, don't get your hopes too high then. But I do know where to send my thanks.

People can disagree. I was running up and down these forums telling people the Locust was a great mech, back when everyone called it $#!t, and to this day people disagree with me about it. However, that's all it is: Opinions, and disagreements. As long as we can be civil, I don't mind.

You guys all must suck. Executioner with a ton of small pulse and 1 lgpl is a beast. Absolutely phenomenal. Also works well with 2lgpl 4 mlas. I dont own it but I grinded them out for a buddy and god damn are they good.

To be fair there is a tag telling us what you primarily play. And most such people seem to think IS is op despite the trinity. Then they want other mechs to be as good as the trinity or they are 'pos'. Kinda tells all someone needs to, no need to roleplay.

Actually, many players and units swap around the factions, either for variety or for stacking the faction rewards.

I made an impromptu guide after finally getting some EXE group queue experience under my belt. Earlier in the thread someone mentioned that the Executioner is perfect for pugging. I have to disagree, pugging is incredibly hard for any purpose-built machine such as the Executioner (and the LRM Hunchback even with quirks, Nova, etc).

At any rate, here's my Executioner guide. Enjoy.
