I really like most of the new mechlab. It works a lot better than the previous versions. But this new feature where I have to change my screen res everytime I want to work on a build and then reset the screen res back when I want to play (otherwise I pay a severe fps penalty) gets a little old.

Does anyone know if there is a fix in the works? Or is this a "working as intended" feature that (like a water drip torture) will slowly drive me insane?

Upgrading your rig could work.

They are making it so lower res systems can properly view the Mech Lab.

I'd suggest upgrading as well though, because it really helps in a lot more ways.

I shall happily accept donations to my upgrade fund.

The game works fine on my computer except for the mechlab
Why do I have to change resolution just to access a paper doll?!

If you need to change resolutions, which would indicate dropping into a lower res to PLAY the game over a higher res to work in the Lab, the game OBVIOUSLY doesn't not work fine on your system, it works is all that can be said.

Yep you got me. I don't have the top of the line system. I'm not going to have the top of the line system, either. And yet, I can play the game just fine.
I simply find it annoying to go through a settings change in order to access the paper doll in the Mechlab. I wouldn't think that would be a hard fix. I doubt I'm alone on this.

From the Roadmap: July 7th patch: "Mechlab expanded view for 720p - The Mechlab will now function for 720p resolutions. The Warehouse will roll out from the right hand side which unlocks those resolutions."

I do just fine with a 750 Ti card and a 5 year old AMD quadcore with 4 gigs of RAM. (Back in January I upgraded from a GTS 260. That upgrade was subsidized by my livestream viewers, for which I am still grateful.)

I have no idea what you are running, but it amazes me when I hear people with far, FAR more robust systems than mine complaining about how poorly the game runs when I do just fine with a machine that is (compared to their rigs) a toaster.

Most the people with issues are running laptops.
