Looks like what the Awesome needs more than a re-size is a re-design. Therefore, this RE-SIZING poll would exclude the awesome because it doesn't actually need re-sized...But I do agree, as does anyone with a right and sane mind, that the Awesome needs work. Just maybe not a re-size.

Yep - and my god would I love to see what Alex came up with if he were to redesign it with modern meta in mind.

The thing is, if they rescale any mech, they'll likely have to redo animation, meshes and textures anyway. It probably wouldn't be that much more effort to selectively rescale individual components...

... like stretching the legs, shrinking the torsos vertically a lot, and horizontally a little.

At worst, animations.
At best, nothing.

Texture resolutions are generally independent of the size of a mech. Meshes are scalable thanks to how amazing bone structures are scale the root bone and all within the hierarchy scale just like you would imagine they would. Animations are the only part I really don't know about.

Granted this is all based on the assumption that when they are talking about rescaling a mech so that it is 90% smaller than it is currently rather than being more thorough and redesigning/rescaling parts of the mech; that would entail all the above.
