I would like to see Trading at some point...

But I voted NO, mostly due to the Fact that this will Encourage Scamming, Phishing, Hacking, Botting, Key Loggers, Account and Identity Theft, and many many other Threats to the Game and Community

right now its best that MWO says away from Trading, as I said I would like to see Trading in MWO, that would open up soo many other possibilities for MWO but right now it would be the Death of the game

Until they introduce a good Free Safety Security Net for MWO

I agree with you here. But yuo should vote yes becasue the devs aren't going to implement something like that anytime soon, for the reasons stated.

I had thought that PGI had flat out said there would be no in game AH or player Market, but I've been unable so far to turn up an actual link to any such quote. Personally I'm in favour of player trading because I like the economic aspects, however I think it would only work and/or be necessary if you also had some sort of salvage system.
AH.

Ohhhh salvaging would be really cool and open up tons of support options for other players. EVE has salvaging too, and it's pretty fun.

As much as I like to help fellow team members get up on the competition, my answer is no. Raises too much potential for essentially money laundering. I'm thinking of gold farmers and account hackers common to other MMOs. You'd find one guy running some 10 accounts for money and mechs then.

Good point

Although gold sellers in a free to play game? I don't know going to have to think on that a bit but its good your looking for the unintended consequence.

I voted No also. I can see where it mite be fun but I can see how it would turn this game into a "Pay to win" game right away. Play and earn your unlocks and mechs lets not just give it away........

i think it would be really cool to sell and buy mechs from other people. Although, it depends on how the exchange system works and if its safe from scams and things like that

I was thinking it would be really cool if we could buy and sell in game, like EVE where you can sell ships and other items to other players. Might as well start thinking big, like EVE big, right?

I mean why not go eventually big like EVE but keep the FPS instanced conflicts? That would be so awesome.

i LOVE the IDEA of a player based economy. however since the player base will be made up of humans. the same species that has ruined and exploited every other player based economy in MMOs id rather not give the gold Pharmers another place to ply thier trade.
so i voted NO

I would like it if it appeared at Black Market type thing. It could also be helpful for players who want to make a quick buck selling their unwanted mechs.

The deeper connection to the game for me is the community warfare. Capturing and securing planets for your house\merc faction. Not unlike the DAoC keeps that were captured and fought over.

I voted no also. Even if there was some sort of trading system I think it would be too much for the devs to handle ATM. If they were to do some sort of trade system I would suggest suppiles like heat sinks/ammo first. Just my 2 cents.

No!

I had enough trouble in WoW with goldsellers & hackers pestering me before i got that autenthicator.
Heck i wouldnt want a new player whos about to play his/her 1st game to have pimped up Mech without grinding the modeles etc. just because hi/she had money to buy one or friend who had 1 to spare...

Being restrictive in the sense of not allowing interplayer transactions cuts down on account hacking as the hacker has nothing to gain if he can not sell off/give away your items

I vote No

plus it keeps away the money farmers and spammers... i don´t need player economics in a game like this...

In APB there are no item drops, yet market is important part of game economy, especialy due to high level of customisation.
If some decal editor (like in APB higly restricted to free users) is introduced to MWO, it cant work without ability to trade creations.
Trade mechs, probably not, but some market should be in.

I'm not sure how it will work in MWO, but in other games that play around not only currency but player experience, you can have the most "pimped" machine in existence, and if you don't have the xp to pilot it, you can't use it.

It sounds like most people would like the depth of a player based economy if it could be implemented without risking one's account or other cheating like problems.

I like the idea but it opens more black market doors and exploitable opportunities for hacks and cons.

I voted no.

I think it detracts from the core gameplay and as I recall this game isn't world of warcraft. Its Mechwarrior and if you can't design a solid mech for yourself this probably isn't the game for you.

NightFallsOnU: Will we (i am hoping with CW or Clans) get to see anything close to an auction house like most MMOs have? I.E. maybe open up the "Blackmarket" for player based selling of mechs and equip?

A: No auction house is planned. We do not intend to support Player to Player transactions.

HELL no.

Opens up lines for all sorts of abuse, and gives hackers an actual reason to go after accounts.

As soon as "epics" and "manufacturer specific" items come in, the game would instantly become a freakshow with Kuritas selling their epix to Davions, Mercs running around w/ house weapons, clanners running mixtech....

And to what end? So people can farm c-bills even more easily because others that are too lazy to run missions but want "the best" can just buy it off them in the AH for top dollar? So the people that are already swimming in bills will be drowning and the amount of "top tier" mechs with roflnoob players will go up?

And THAT will encourage china-farmers and hackers, because that`s the aspect that they can earn real life money with.

That is what has happened in EVERY MMO with a player driven economy. And in many cases is what has destroyed that economy.

NO PLAYER -DRIVEN ECONOMY IN MWO.

Maybe like a Mech Auction House?

Could work like the AH on Forza 2 where you could put up your painted, raced car and others could buy it.

Would be interesting to be able to buy other peoples used mechs that have paintjobs and specific fittings. If this is what you mean I vote yes.
