Asked Russ on Twitter about any possible MG changes.
He said "no we haven't - I suppose the hit reg improvements would have helped some"
So there ya have it.
Thats what I figure as well, hitreg improves, so now hitscan (MG/laser/flamer) weapons are more reliable.

Anyone Notice Mgs Lately?

MG are still crap on anything that isnt damaged to near scrap metal. They just dont do any damage. My Arrow is an Ac20 Arrow as 6 MG just dont do much.

I had the imrpession already b4 this patch that higher amounts of MGs can hurt dearmored Mechs pretty well if you can stay on the target.
Imo the MG fun starts when you can mount at least 3 of them.

MGs were nerfed in the 2014-06-17 patch because there were some adjustments to hit detection (they used to only register 7-8 of the 10 hits they should do). PGI probably thought a 1.0 DPS MG with proper hit detection would be too much for the game to handle, so they nerfed it to 0.8 DPS.
Perhaps now, a year later, that pre-emptive nerf is finally compensated for with the latest HSR fix?
Anyway, since this is a MG thread, here's my History of the MG chart:

10 fired in the general direction of the target. Right?
Just being clear for those in the school of "Skillz"

Yes. 10 shots on-target would - for some game-engine related issue - fail to register all the hits.
Misses due to the MGs Cone of Fire is another issue altogether; and they're misses, not hits
