It has already been mentioned by Russ that PGI intends to add scouting to CW in the next phase of it's release. During the last town hall Russ spoke more on PGIs plans for the scouting mechanics. One feature he mentioned they were working on was incentivizing scouting by providing in game bonuses for the team that currently holds the scouting atvantage.

Russ talks about scouting as if it's going to be a tug of war where each team fights to secure the highest tier of intel while simultaneously taking more and more intel from their opponents. He mentions three different tiers of intel, each tier of intel providing a larger and larger bonus to the team who holds it.

My suggestion is regarding the first tier of intel. Russ suggested that the reward for reaching this first tier could be the ability to see what mechs the enemy team is piloting. I think this is a great Idea but I would like to build on it.

What if this first tier of intel allowed the team that possessed it to not only see what mechs their opponents were dropping in, but also allowed them to reselect what mech they would drop in first at the start of a CW match? The idea would be to keep the team with the intel disadvantage locked into their first choices, and allow the team with the advantage to strategize based on what their opponents were bringing.

I feel like this goes with the theme of preparing based on scouting information. If you know how your opponents force is constructed you can use that information to prepare your own force appropriately. At it's most powerful this bonus could allow you to see a light rush coming and allow your pilots to drop in with their light hunters, or on the reverse if you see your opponents selecting all assault mechs you could prepare a light rush yourself.

I feel as though this would really incentivize scouting missions, and it would give a significant enough advantage to make teams want to divert some resources towards scouting.

What do you guys think.
