With the bulk of the population clamoring that CW is a wasteland, as well as the rising mantra of, "The best defense in CW is no defense!" I have to ask this for those that are in a unit that's actually active in CW:

Do you have to coordinate with your opposition, or if push comes to shove, outright begging them, just so that you can get matches in CW?

When it comes to fighting IS vs Clan, people always show up.

But when it comes to IS vs IS or Clan vs Clan... its like pulling teeth.

Yes, but how many actually DO show up?? That's the real question...

I was referring, of course, to the IS vs Clan end of the spectrum. Sorry for the confusion.

I've had IS and Clan beg us to stop dropping against their planet(s), but never had to beg anyone to show up. Ghost drops happen. People are going to queue or they aren't.

I drop against Steiner planets. Someone always seems to show up. Kinda why I love sticking to the Steiner/Falcon Border.

We have fun here.

So far, I've only had two ghost drops ever... I've been playing for a few months now.. Most times, someone always shows up in the last minute before a ghost drop, but the wait times are a bit exhausting..

A well know secret is to bring a book, or tab out an play megamek in the background (The little mwo icon flashes when it loads the map, so you can join in on the pre drop banter.) Some of us even troll the foums.

Agreed. Always a bit of action on this front. I've had one ghost drop in about a month.

There once was a time when clans didn´t show up... some political agenda after TUK.
This has changed:

On some days we put pressure on clans by dropping with 3-4 companies at the same time - against Falcon and Wolf there is no such thing as a ghostdrop during the european hours.

I would like to thank the guys on the other side at this point! I hope we return the favor and there isn´t a GD to be suffered against Steiner either.

Edit:
To be fair: Even during the clans "no-play" time there were few GDs against Falcon.

Actually you have to know which faction or units are based on which continent. Then you know when and where to have fights. Every day has 3 attack phases. Lets have a look at them from an european perspective.
1st attack phase starts at 8 in the morning cet. Thats when only a few Americans are awake, a few Europeans just woke up and the Oceanic guys become active. During the secound half of this phase no Americans are playing, the Europeans become active and the Oceanic guys go to sleep.
2nd attack phase starts at 4 in the afternoon cet. No Americans are playing CW, no Oceanic players but many Europeans are active. During the secound half, the Americans wake up, no Oceanic are playing and the Europeans are very active.
3rd attack phase starts at 0.00 midnight cet. Some Europeans are still awake, the Americans become very active and the Oceanic guys just wake up. During the secound half, no European is awake and the Americans are now very active.

Now you have to know that most Europeans are playing for Inner Sphere while most Americans are playing for the Clans. Oceanic are inbetween, Russians play Clans and are between Europe and Oceanic time, some units have their location in their designation.

Lets say I want to play CW at the beginning of attack phase 2 and I am a Clanner. Then I go to the public teamspeak hubs of Frr, Kurita or some German Clan unit that I know. It is Beta 2, I do not care about any truce, any grudges nor any diplomatics. When I want to play, then I want to play. I had the leader of one of the smallest clan units in my teamspeak channel yelling at me for 5 solid minutes how disrepectful I am when I dont care about their roleplay. I was laughing so hard I couldnt even kick him from the channel and he wrote a 5 page apology in this forum. But I don't care. I am here to play and to have fun. We have the manpower to start an attack at the beginning of a phase in a faction that is mostly defending. Either we get the support of the rest of that faction or not, we have our fun and improve ourselves.
Now either

The Tukayyid event and the map reset was clearly a poor decision.

Even though we all knew it was beta, waiting so late in the game after all our toil to reset the map, especially when planets have no effect on the game (And according to some players I've argued with, won't have any effect for experienced players), kind of killed the drive.

I know I haven't played in months, but that's because my faction teamspeak has been completely dead during the supposed peak hours of "American Friday Evening".

... and no way in hell am I doing the depressing meat grinder that is "Pugging on the clan border"

I like GCGB. According to the actual strength of CGB there should bee a Trial of absorbtion now. Weak Clans have no right to bee part of the Invasion.

Most of the CGB territory got absorbed - are you suggesting to merge the Clans Playerbase?
