Alright, I have the huginn and 3l, so I need Raven #3. So what are the pros/cons to both of these variants?

Raven 2X 2LL 2ML build is wayyyy more powerful than any 4X build currently.

So I'd advise going for the 2X.

Huggin can AC20 just like the 4X so you are good there, BUT you can only AC20/Gauss Raven if you use SHS, so the 4X could be your cheaper option because no 1.5 million DHS tax... you will need an XL195-200 for it though.

And since it sounds like you just got Ravens for the first time I highly suggest giving AC20 ravens a try 2/3 kills is common and 400-500 damage is the maximum, but its soooo worth it.

You can do it with 21 shots and 1 JJ, or switch out the JJ for a half ton of ammo which i would advise, but both are fun.
If you use gauss you get 40 shots if you lose the right arm armor, and pad the gauss rifle with 3 tons ammo and 1 ton in the head.

Not true... you can run AC20 on a 4X with DHS, you just have to sacrifice a bit of ammo and/or your jets (that one still has three tons and XL200 with full armor on everything but the head and RA). Useful for if you want to use the same chassis for other things as well, like a dual LPL build. With SHS you can squeeze four full tons of ammo in with some effort.

Ahh I see you don't have Ferro armor. I was wondering how you squeezed it in with such a lack of slots! I'd still rather have the full armor and extra .5 tons of ammo though...

If you're gonna use that SHS build you can use 3 tons of ammo with the XL210 that came in the 3L. You know to save $$$.

If you're going to invest the cash in a new XL the 200 makes sense if you intend on doing commandos and a 190 makes sense if you want to do locusts.

My RVN-4X

I find that the ML makes a huge difference in terms of damage potential and gives me a weapon to make sure my shot isn't going to get blocked by a hill (it's like really crappy aim assist). You can of course substitute a JJ, another ton of ammo, or a TAG. Or you can sub out the AC20+ML for a Gauss.

You guys certainly make the AC20 Raven sound tempting. I might have to try that on my Huginn sometime. Although, slow lights and I don't get along all that great sometimes so it should be interesting I am probably going to get the 2x for now. Thanks for all the info!

I have already mastered the Ravens... Except for the 4X which I passed up... But yesterday I went back and bought a 4X so I could have a ERLL platform to use as a sniper in CW, how can you turn down the second longest range (30% energy range boost) in MWO? I don't feel like giving up the tonnage needed to field gauss or an AC20, even though the equally good (30%) ballistics range boost is nice. I also have jump jets so I can reach high places to snipe from... Always a plus...

Of course I ran into DONTOR in my very first match with it... So my first match wasn't so hot, my second went well though... xD
