poptart streakboats? Now I know you are trolling. Streaks need time to gain locks. Poptarts don't give you that time.

Which is why it can get frustrating if I come across a team that somehow never locked onto a single enemy nearby (before I jump).
But you can tell me why a Crow or Mad Dog would engage an enemy deathball any better.
p.s. remember my name, and remember that I never troll. Nor do I quite understand the point of doing so.

Supposedly the M.
Of course, there are none with like 6-8 lasers in the leg as shown in some of the cartoons

the cartoon is not canon though, and the canon version is the "M" packing a C-ERPPC, C-LB-10X, Steak6 and ERSL.

Other than that, fire support from the back, or play it like a slower medium. I generally play mine like I do my Shadow Hawks. Hit and fade and use my mobility to keep me out of trouble. I've seen people LRM with them but I've honestly never tried LRMing as Clan so can't really give any commentary there.
The rebalance as Russ described it sounds like the Summoner is going to get a huge boost in areas unrelated to firepower, while mechs like the Timber are going to lose agility. Also information warfare which is huge. Summoner might be my go to mech after the pass as the one thing that my HBR lacks and drives me nuts a lot is the mobility that the Summoner has.
The one thing I can say with a fair amount of confidence is that it's going to likely become a popular mech whenever the patch hits the PTS.
The firepower/DPS quirks sounds like they're mostly being pulled as PGI seems to be well aware of what a disaster that was.

Could it be represented via moving around omnipods?

It looses side torsos like crazy
its arm hardpoints are useless on maps with multiple terrain levels(Caustic)
Cant even us it's iconic PPC without over heating or having to boat DHS
has zero DPS when you do use all of hits hardpoints due to no DHS(ac10+4ml's over heats it)
No energy ST hardpoints
I could keep going and going....
Once you own the any other Clan heavy, the Thor is pointless since cookie cutter laser builds simply do not work on it.
I think I'll keep it for a few more months, if its not quirked or if PGI doesnt move its arms up a bit, Im freeing up a mech bay.
Mogs
SAVE FOR FUTURE QUIRKS...
Otherwise...yeah. My favorite mech...king of 'Meh'.
Gauss+ERPPC poptarting
2ERPPC...meh.
Gauss + 4erml
5SRM6 / 5SSRM6...at least it can jump?
3LPL
4ERLL or 3ERLL with cooling or TC2+
2LPL + SRM
UAC20 + 4ERSL...fun but hot.
Sad part is, removable JJ or new ST pods with E could save this mech.

I seriously hope this is the case. Seriously.

In CW, or even normal queue, there are lots of spots where you can jump gauss people, even when they're in firing lines, because you can rise just far enough about the ridge to let off your gauss before dropping back into cover. There are exceedingly few gunners who can hit you if you're doing it right...don't listen to the yahoos on these forums claiming that they'll blow you to pieces if you try it against them.
Not a huge fan of the cuac on these, because my playstyle is to move around a lot, not dedicate facetime to my targets.

Anything that actually presents a challenge to pilot they won't touch it with a 9001 foot pole, because its not competitive and not "the easy button".
Now granted, the Summoner has some less than favorable hardpoints but its still lethal in the right hands.
The two biggest problems are its low arms, and very low # of hardpoints and can't boat anything except SRM or LRM's efficiently so it is stuck in the crap bucket for most players.
I still find it hilarious when I see the 1ERPPC+GAUSS builds running around, such a poor build for the summoner.

I find this build and this build to be the best builds for the chassis.
But I'm far more entertained by this build.

Good pilots will make it look good but at the end of the day, it's an inferior clan heavy mech.
