Go for the battlemaster 2C. Sure you need to pay 14$ for it but it is crazy good. It's one of the only IS mechs which you can use as a brawler without being very careful with a xl engine. If you are careful with it you can out fight any mech in the game.

battlemaster is really nice too with its high mounted torso hard points. i like mine with 6 LL or gauss+ laser vomit altho its arm is a bit low for hill humping.

wub master is something to be feared and respected.

Since the quirks hit for the Warhawk I ditched the 4 x CLPL build for this:

2 x CLPLAS
2 x CERPPC
25 DHS
MK IV TC

With the recent PPC changes its even more brutal--1504 m/s speed, almost like before the giganerfs a year ago. Instead of using both PRIME arms use the C arm that gets -4% ENERGY heat instead of -4% CERPPC heat. No Ghost Heat to dance around, pinpoint damage on demand just sit in the back and make anyone that exposes themselves pay dearly. The key is to sit back where you can do full damage and largely avoid damage to your fragile STs, ideally 500-700m. At that distance you only have to fear other PPC and Gauss snipers as laser fire will be less effective and super easy to spread and your return fire will be much more deadly.

I run this on my PRIME(I) for the c-bill boost and print money with it both in CW and the solo queue.

Here's my current build. It runs about 80kph. Can fire alpha strike three times before shutting down with coolshot 9 by 9 and coolshot 6 you can fire your alpha 6 times before overheating. Plenty of armor (Remember armor quirks).
