I didn't find the Rewards 2.0 list anywhere but the patch notes, so I copied them from there to this thread - as they say, knowing is half the battle.

Rewards 2.0 - What's New?
The new rewards system comes with a number of new rewards specially designed for role warfare. With Rewards 2.0 all rewards were re-balanced in order to be economical. Many rewards are based on a system measuring engagement/disengagement with enemy players.

Engagement/Disengagement Rules:
  • Dealing or receiving damage makes you engaged.
  • Depending on sight, distance and time since the last damage was dealt, timers work to see if you are still actively in combat or disengaged.
The following rewards are new or follow a different system now:

Scouting:
  • Be the first to spot a target.
  • Do not engage.
Flanking:
  • Move behind an enemy Mech without being targeted by it and without being engaged.
  • Deal damage to the enemy Mech from behind (out of sight).
  • Reward has a cool-down of 20 seconds.
Kill Most Damage:
  • Compared to all other players, deal the most damage to a target.
  • The target dies.
Killing Blow:
  • Deal the killing shot to a target.
Solo Kill:
  • Achieve both "Kill Most Damage" and "Killing Blow" for the same target.
Capture:
  • Being inside of a base while the base re-aligns.
Brawler:
  • Get a "Solo Kill" in between 0 and 450 meters distance to the target.
  • Be in a medium or heavy 'Mech.
Lance Formation:
  • All players of one lance are in a distance of 140 meters to each other.
  • The whole lance is engaged.
  • Reward occurs every 15 seconds if not interrupted.
Protected Light:
  • Be in a light 'Mech.
  • Stay close to a 'Mech that is at least 2 weight classes higher.
  • Both are engaged.
  • Reward occurs every 8 seconds.
Protected Medium:
  • Be in a medium 'Mech.
  • Stay close to a 'Mech that is at least 2 weight classes higher.
  • Both are engaged.
  • Reward occurs every 8 seconds.
Protect Proximity:
  • Staying in a radius of 150 meters to a damaged friendly 'Mech (critical damage).
  • Be engaged.
  • Reward occurs every 10 seconds if not interrupted.
TAG Damage:
  • TAG a target.
  • Damage is dealt to that target while target is still TAGed.
  • Reward is multiplied by the damage dealt in points.
  • Reward is only shown on HUD once finished or interrupted (total number rewarded).
  • Reward is only given if the target is tagged for at least 2 seconds.
  • Reward is only given if the target takes at least 5 damage.
  • The reward has a cooldown of 2 seconds.
  • This timer resets to 2 seconds with every point of damage dealt.
  • Once the timer reaches 0 all the accumulated reward is given to the player/shown on HUD.
  • The reward is finished when:
    • Tag is removed from the target.
    • The target dies.
TAG Kill:
  • The user is tagging the target.
  • The target gets destroyed WHILE being TAGed.
Hit and Run:
  • A hit and run “Score” is generated based off an engagement.
  • Every point of damage dealt counts for 1 point of score.
  • Every point of damage taken counts for -2 points of score.
  • If score is greater than 10, you are awarded with a hit and run award.
  • If the total damage taken during the engagement is greater than 15 the score is zeroed and no award is given.
First Capture:
  • Player gets the capture collector reward for a previously uncaptured collector.
  • Can only occur once per collector per match.
  • Does not apply to starting bases that are already captured.
Stealth TAG
  • Player TAGs a target.
  • Player stays out of the line of sight of any enemy.
  • Player is rewarded every 6 seconds.

It's there, it's called a "spotting assist" and gives 20 XP + 2,000 CB.

No, that's the reward for "Player spammed R key just to get rewards..."

The reward for "player pressed R" would have a required 5 second hold time or so. As it is people just run in and hit the R key as fast as they can to get the bonus on as many mechs as they can see...then they run away and hide. And it only rewards the FIRST person to do so........so after the opening engagement no one cares if they lock up a target or not.

Not that there should be a reward for doing what any sane mechwarrior should do ANYWAY, but nowadays...........

Spotting assists are only given IF the target you locked on to, gets hit by an ally.

It doesn't work that way.

You don't get a spotting assist unless you actually have the 'mech targeted when someone else hits it.

The people who run in and spam R are usually trying to show their team mates where the enemy is, not get spotting assists.

It's an old tactic from closed beta days. Spam R since it causes a lot of beeping on your teammates' HUDs. Works better than stopping in front of 6 mechs to type "enemies at D6"

I was referencing the "Scouting" bonus, not "spotting". But you are correct, still does not stop people from giving into their ADD and switching targets constantly. LOL

It is a great method, from when before their was VOIP......of course, it took years for them to add VOIP in game which should have been there from day 1........and no one uses it LOL I'd rather hear someone say "6 enemies at D6, mostly lights, one Atlas...." than to just get a bunch of intermittent contacts and still be left wondering if it's a scout group or a wave of Assaults coming that way.

Good info.

Why the hell are there no rewards for using NARC, and so many for using TAG...?

Because TAG requires you to continually stay on target while NARC just requires you to hit them with the rocket.

There's both "Tag Narc" for 25 XP, 1,500 CB and "Narc kill" for 60 XP, 6,000 CB.

While I see your point, I might add that this servers a purpose in PUG as well - at least as long as after the initial cycling through one lock is maintained. It's the fastest way in PUG-land to make your teammates aware that there are multiple enemies in your LOS and not just a single one.

Yes, cycling targets is the standard way to tell people there are multiple enemies in sight - and since so many people have not bothered to get a microphone headset in this day and age, it's still in use.

It's unlikely that they're all just doing it to farm the relatively small reward for target locking, because almost nobody remembers what those bonuses are; hence this thread.

It is a hell of a lot harder to hit a target with a slow-moving rocket with a maximum range of 400-600m (IS vs clantech), than it is to wave a continuous laserbeam with a max range of 750 (or 850+ depending on quirks, currently...) across an enemy mech at regular intervals.

Plus, y'know...minimum 4 tons (probably more if you're sensible to take extra ammo) with 3+ crit slots, vs 1 ton and 1 crit slot for TAG.

So TAG is exponentially more rewarding, currently, than NARC is.

I'm not certain I've seen either of those since the reward changes happened. I may have to try to test it some.

Yes, but NARC is still the least risky of the two, by miles. The NARC rockets can still hit a target at up to 450 meters. You can then boogie out of there without consequence. Whereas TAG provides the enemy with a clear red "shoot over there for a free kill" beam of light. The mech has to hold it over the target, until it is hit by LRMs for them to get a reward. Do you know how long it takes a dual Gauss mech to kill something standing still?
