The arctic cheetah is positively suave without those huge boxy missile shoulders. SO dreamy. ~~~

Yeah looks awesome... but who put a teenage mutant ninja turtle in that mech...

Haha, well I find that my design philosophy differs a lot from other pilots.

I'm not going to bring 2x ERPPCs, a single one will do just fine. I personally never bring more than one ERPPC on anything (unless it's quirked for heat), it's too hot to be useful. That second ERPPC will only come in handy for Alphas which, if you are sniping, you shouldn't need often.

The idea with a single ERPPC is to punp as much damage as your heat capacity will allow. If you've got good aim a lot more of your damage should get through than your opponents.

With that in mind I will spend the rest of my pod space rounding out my mech : ) . Extra ton of armor, 2 extra heat sinks, 8 streak tubes, two medium lasers and ECM~

Groovy. I was thinking ERPPC in the RT (for that high hardpoint), obligatory ECM, as many DHS as you can fit and some small/medium backup lasers could work if you really wanted to go down the PPC path. Nice to see we're on the same page there ... dual ER PPC is just gross amounts of heat and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone on a mech that can't bring enough heat sinks to stay cool.

Actually, upon further testing of my shadowcat's weapon system on my stormcrow, I've found that 2x cERSLs compliment an ERPPC better than 2x cERML do. The small lasers run cool enough to fire consistently and in conjunction with the ERPPC whereas the ERPPC and medium lasers really compete a bit too much for heat. ^-^

Precisely, and I'm finding that the small lasers are a much better complement. I just got this score in a testbed for my new weapon system.

The Shadowcat will have MASC, Jumpjets, and ECM, to accompany these weapons. I even used the same number of Heat sinks in my test crow as I will have in my Shadowcat.

Also, my ERPPC is going to go in the right arm, but that's just personal preference, I'm a natural with ERPPC twitch shots, and I want to make use of them on lights : p

Why in the living hell are we so damn happy about all this? Why aren't you all complaining about something?! Like how the Shadow Cat's cockpit looks smashed in or some other unreasonable nitpick. This community disappoints me so much right now.

That's fair. I was thinking of putting lasers in both arms, so they would share the arm crosshair while the PPC gets the torso crosshair to itself.

I did put a lot of thought into just that, but I decided that in the end, my biggest weapon deserved the best possible mount,

I put a rediculous amount of thought into my designs. I tweak and re-evaluate them all the time : p

I'm thinking LPL will be the better choice for the Shadow Cat, simply because it'll be easier to manage the heat. It's also more useful up close if you get rushed by a fast mover.

imo ppc is better vs lights than lpl

It will be, but what he is saying is that double ERPPCs are a bad idea, and they are.

By the looks of this design, you would not be able to reload your missiles with leg ammo.

You can't, the legs are full of jumpjets.

Its smaller than a Vindicator, Blackjack and Ice Ferret. That is beautiful.

And AC same size as Firestarter, nice.

I never cared for the Arctic Cheetah and always thought the Shadowcat was supremely overrated.

After watching those videos, I now very much want both.

Good... Good... Feel the Wave III flowing through you... you do not yet realize the full POWER of the lighter side of Wave III...

Bah, that was terrible... I dunno, it's late :P

I find myself really anticipating the Arctic Cheetah, maybe even moreso than any 'mech since Wave 1. Not only does it look great but I have never piloted this 'mech before in any game and this 'mech is going to play in a way I have never been able to before as a clan player (no, the Ice Ferret doesn't count without ECM and JJs).

still too many days to go, However I took leave from work to have lot of time to run these mechs. Best ones you have made so far PGI (even better than my favourite Stalkers). So happy I get 4 of each to mess with.
