The Grand uses the same three letter moniker as the Dragon so could go either way. Be a good excuse for some style variations and more hardpoint options. The Dragon/Grand Dragon could become one of the most versatile chassis (next to IMO the HBKs).

I believe, that even though, it started out as just a variant of the Dragon, later on was considered to be a different mech altogether.
Also, it would be nice to implement it, just so they could differentiate the Dragon from the Grand Dragon, by removing the lower arm actuator from the Dragon and keeping the full arm on the Grand Dragon.
And exchanging the claw arm for a humanoid hand for the Grand Dragon.

True, there is some overlap both in MWO and from the TROs, however, the Grand has a separate lineup of variants from that of the Dragon.

The Dragon/Grand Dragon is an iconic mech for the DCMS. That some say it has lackluster performance in MWO is by no fault of the mech(s).
The Dracs are gonna want them come the battle for Luthien and Operations Scorpion/Bulldog.

lol, PGI wont allow anyone to be whipped off the map now, what makes you think they would allow a whole factions to be removed via the lore?
We are rewriting lore here....PGi is trend setters....
and to the OP,
We already have the Grand Dragon...its just mislabeled in MWO....the Dragon does not have a lower arm actuator and is like the picture above.
So change your petition to ask for the ACTUAL DRAGON!

Excellent portrayal of what the Jags were thinking at the time! The RP is strong with this one.
Irregardless, we have the Dragon thus the Grand Dragon is waiting on the sidelines for it's chance and as I said in my OP, it could be additional variants of the Dragon chassis or, as with the HBK IIC, it's own line.

In all the artwork for the Dragon, you are correct, it never looked to have a lower arm actuator.
In reality though, all the record sheets for the Dragon have the lower arm actuator, Grand or otherwise.

They made that concept art based on the TRO of the dragon holding up its right arm, and all the art based off of that have the misconception that the right arm is not articulated.

the closest you can come now is the flame but you have to put the high mounted torso enegy weapons in the arms, reducing survivability.
on my list of other iconic kurita mechs is in the komodo and hatamoto chassis

I'd be 100% behind adding the grand dragon.
In fact, the above Dragon concept's right arm, with a more humanoid left arm, and let Alex run it through his MWO'ifier to make it a little more fancy than the Dragon, and I'd say throw it in the next IS pack lol.

Actually it has had a lackluster performance cause its mostly engine not enough bite. That is something that has been true for 30 years.

Thats basically true for both side, since none of it is recorded in our stats.
