Dear PGI,

the way you deal with your big events is just dissapointing.

I spend countless hours fighting the "Battle of Tukayyid" against overwhelming forces to suffer a close defeat.
After the event i expected a cheerfull greeting from PGI to all players. Maybe a celebration page, a special video to see, anything to celebrate one of the biggest event in MWO history.

But nothing happend.

I spend countless hours in the latest Hardcore event, fighting brave Mechwarriors in bloody and dramatic battles for planet ownwership and our unit finally gained the upper hand.
After the event i expected a cheerfull greeting from PGI to all players. Maybe a celebration page, a special video to see, anything to celebrate one of the biggest event in MWO history.

Events like this, were players from all factions and from all over the world spend a whole lot of time to make it a success, deserve a better ending. I am not talking about prices (btw were is my hardcore units victory item?), i am talking about PGI doing something special (and statistics are nice, but not special) for the whole community. There was not even a page were congratulations and regards were expressed to all participants. There was just nothing. The events just ended and this was it. This is not the way to treat a community as engaged as this one.

So please, for the future: When a big event ends, give it an ending that is "BIG".

Want a cookie?

I'd rather PGI spend their time working on game improvements, more content, bug fixing, and any number of other things then stroking the players' epeens.

Good post!
I have the same oppinion and I'am realy disappointed about the behaviour of PGI after events.
They are showing to me that they dont care at all about the results. And thats not just because my unit won the planetary conquest. Pls don't get me wrong. Its just because I am playing this games since 3 years and want to see it growing.
Every new player just sees sales, preorders and so on on the main page. Now news for the latest events/results, no informations whats going in CW or whats going on in the community. I thought we have a Com-manager for things like that?
Show everyone whats going on in your game. Make it interesting for new players and dont just show them what they can buy.

No thanks, i dont take cookies from clanners that need to use profanity and are not able to realize that taking care of the community would result in more motivated players which would mean more money and more money means more time to work on "game improvements, more content, bug fixing, and any number of other things".

I was wondering this as well. There hasn't been any official announcement or anything. Maybe they are still attempting to gather up all the stats and it's taking longer than expected. Or perhaps they want to have an example of the unit dog tags to show before they announce anything.

Both were broken in a lot of ways. A good test as we should see in a beta product but I wouldn't say they were a 'good event'. The Tuk event was so bad it drove a ton of people away from CW, the most recent event certainly didn't help.

I want something to celebrate - celebrating broken events though isn't it.

I just think that the IS needed some better cbill and LP rewards in concert with the release of wave 3 mechs and the last event.

I assume stroking epeen in this context mean not miserably failing at a total PR gimme.
I also highly doubt somebody setting up some congratulations and closure to an event affects somebody else's job of animating, modeling, or fixing bugs.. If PGI is seriously using the same people for all those things, then MWO has much bigger problems. If somebody looking for professional hire as a modeler, animator, artist, etc. says they do a bit of modeling, animation, and all of the above, that's just another way of saying they suck at all of those things and haven't mastered any of them. Mastery of at least one category should be attained before moving on. Dedicated animators, dedicated modelers, dedicated map makers are 100% going to do a better job than someone who can "do a bit of everything."

The Steiner guy has the right of it. I was a bit bitter that once Tukayyid as over we had a map reset a day later and entered beta 2 with little celebration of what was and no fanfare of what was to come. It was more MEH ... back to the grind after playing over 70 hours in a week.

But they ran an event. That took time that wasn't working on the things you mentioned. Why have an event if you're not going to have some big celebration at the end. It leaves people feeling flat.

Do you elebrate the party after a party? The event itself was a party with lots of flashy laz0rs and noisy explosions.

And we had a ton of celebration in TS at the end as we saw tukayyid being clan wolf at the end.

Some of you probably did the event jus wrong.
