Go... OUTSIDE??? Crap, I don't know if I'm licensed to walk outdoors. I'm never gonna win the prize for this weekend!

There's a fan base? There are satisfied people, now?
No.
There are people who are still bound by dreams of an ideal or neutered by an aversion to bloodlust.
Nothing has changed. The only thing at stake is the integrity of the illusion and self-delusion. How long will they dance over falling trees? At what point does the collectible artwork become moot in a minimum viable product?
These are questions I'm curious to see answered. People have murdered millions in the pursuit of dysfunctional ideals, I'm curious to see who plays out to be the beast and who plays out to be the harlot in this scenario. It can be interpreted both ways, but the beast ultimately consumes the harlot in the end.
....
As for what PGI must be working on instead of weekend events...
Remember 2014? How not much was going on?
Then Bryan announced the crowd-funding campaign for Transverse? Another game aimed at the Wing Commander IP?
Oh - but once that exploded in their face, they came out with community warfare in December. Which is about right. Transverse's crowd-funding campaign exploded in september and it was done by October. Two to three months is appropriate for what we see in Community Warfare.
PGI can work pretty quick when they want to.
Which just means that they don't want to most of the time. Which is unfortunate. They can actually do some decent work when they are aiming above the minimum viable standard. I almost want to see PGI "grow up" and 'realize the world doesn't have to be this way.'
Like I said - people bound by ideals. I am no exception.

Yeah, this, unfortunately.
Note Paul's announcement of a 'significant change to ECM'... which turns out to be nothing more than changing one number in a spreadsheet. Then he declares 'this may or may not lead to further changes'.
I too have the impression they are once again working on something else.

I vividly recall a few months back when the community complained often and loudly that there were too many events, and it was ruining gameplay to have everyone always going apeshit for prizes.
I for one would rather have the events, as MWO has lost a lot of it's luster, and that would keep me wanting to play more, but hey, maybe they're just listening to player feedback on this one. *shrug*

wait there is a Female on PGI staff? when did this happen?

but seriously sometimes no weekend events is a good thing people stop playing like A holes. Also PGI probably doesnt need to gather any data for the moment.

I'm so pale, sometimes it hurts.
This weekends local even will be "Guess where the horrible violent storm will land." Winners get to run for their lives!
Still beats the winter events such as, "Sliding and Screaming on Ice.", and "You are staying home today, with no power, or heat!"
O and my favorite, "Guess how many feet of snow are in that bank"
Give you a clue, it's past your axel...
