You hear that PGI? Maybe including a bit of lore could improve player retention!

Too bad you had to go to Sarna and MWO couldn't give you lore.

You can easily end up on a Sarna walkabout by accident. I do it all the time. You go to find a pic of a Yen Lo Wang, you end up reading the history of Justin Allard, which leads you to Candice Liao, you end up reading the whole Liao family line back to the Star League, which takes you to Kerensky, which takes you to the Clans, which goes to Mongoose, which skips you ahead to the WoB....

Yeah man. Been there. Props. It's decades of stuff. An insanely, absurdly rich gameworld for lore. Some of it is terrible and some is amazing.

Someone should make a game out of it :P Some sort of 'Battletech' or 'Mechwarrior' game. Just do it, you know. Online. Like a MMO or even a MOBA. It would be rich, complex and engaging. All the best games have and have had tons of lore in them. Some people get into it, some don't but even those who don't get into it still find it's got a ton more depth, which makes them stay and sustains them through direct content dry spells.

Ah well. Maybe some day, right?

I must have read some of the novels 15 or 20 times by now. Never gets old. I love the richness and depth of the Battletech universe. And yes, I'll readily admit to being a huge Stackpole fan :)

During the last year i've been reading the novels, i just finished "the hunters" (3058) this week. So far my fauvorites are the first ones, during the 3025 period, maybe it's the darker universe, with mankind going backwards and the succesor states fighting over the scraps of the star league... definately worth the reading.
