Yea, even the Federation has its low points in history.
(Though, Prince John's January 2796 proclamation made the same point, and preceded that of Clement XX.)
To what officials were the requests made - those on Strawn itself, or someone on New Avalon?
Also, who was making the requests, and what was the precise wording of said request - was the request made in good faith, or is someone perhaps trying to capitalize on the emotional charge of the Purge for their own ends?

A dark day indeed in the history of the mighty Suns - but the actions of one world do not represent the beliefs of our whole nation... even in those trying times. The Pope's comments were correct: God's love is not limited by skin color, and neither should ours be.

Thanks for the lore link. The closest thing I could find was a Purge by House Marik. Sad times for the Suns indeed.

Nice thought on securilism but it does not have the best track record either. Stalin, Kim Jong-il and his son proved that quite well. Humans can be....well very human.
