I just can't bring myself to run combinations that incur ghost heat. If you stagger their fire that means more facetime and those STs will not last. I ran the 4 x CLPLAS build for a while.....uptime was definitely its downfall.

Ghost Heat really hurts the Warhawk in this regard. You have lots of pod space but lots of locked DHS and limited crits and hardpoints. Boating large energy weapons is what these construction rules are telling you to do but Ghost Heat makes this less effective.

Yeah, that's why I like the 3xLPL + 3xMPL build. I used to run 4xLPL, but... it's really not that good. And it's really not that pretty either, with the laser cubes. So if it's not good and not pretty, there's not much point to it :)

Yeah thats my problem with it. one of my favourite direct fire build is 2xERPPC in the left arm, and 2xLPL in the B right arm with the LAA, because it can alpha, and all of its weapons are fully actuated, purely because it sidesteps the issues. Tbh if i could id actually remove FF, not add endo and run 2xLPL 4xMPL with like 32DHS

I run that build (PPCs/LPLs for all the same reasons--alpha ability being one) but with the prime RA and C LA as it maximizes my PPC velocity and heat reduction.

I do run -C with the 2 x CLPLAS 4 x CMPLAS build. To eat up the crit slots I have to use a MK VI TC and CAP and still get max armor, 25 dhs, and .3 left over.

With modules and the big TC the range on the CLPLAS gets pretty nice and the CMPLAS range gets close to 400m. Its like a better version of the ever popular 2 x CPLAS 4 x CERMLASbuild.

So are you just eating the Ghost heat on the 3 x CLPLAS then? You agreed with me on hating the GH but then say that's why you run a build with GH.

Yea a pretty good ******* reason too......

THEY ARE *****************OP*********************
There _ARE_ Overpowered.

They DO deserve to be nerfed into line with the other 60+ mechs in this game.

I dont get why this game is so incredibly against any sort of nerfs. We get devs that either make something terrible or OP as hell, an a community that isnt smart enough to ______calm down______ and let deserved nerfs happen to mechs that are statistically OP like the Timber.

No, they don't. Just because YOU fail facing them doesn't mean everyone else is...

I know these mechs and know when I can and cannot beat them 1v1... don't do that at the wrong time. Hell this being a team game DON'T 1v1 anything and you'll live longer and contribute more to your team. CAN you beat it? Yes But you'll be crippled doing so, which means bad things for your team. Trade better than they do and profit.

Hell I've been loving my nova's recently as I am playing them like a dragon with JJs (fast striker/flanker support) and they excel at that. I don't do the poke and peek game with them I finish stuff that thinks it's getting away (with a trade) or a retreat.

I may not be able to open up everyone and kill them on my own ( but I can sure as hell finish them)(not entirely true as this little guy trades fine too as long as you protect the legs).

He's proving that Ghost heat and 'Nerfs' don't do anything to competent play. Period.

While I am sure he appreciates you talking for him, I think I will wait for his response.

I thought one could still fire 3 of them without ghost heat. But yeah, apparently I have just been eating it, as you say. I very rarely alpha strike though.

Clan LLs have a ghost heat cap of 2 instead of 3 like the IS.

The IS can do 3 LLAS, ERLLAS, LPLAS but the clans can do just 2.

Do you guys have any mechs that you more or less default to when you're having a bad run of games? Not even a necessarily overpowered mech; just something that you're so comfortable playing that even on your bad days you outpreform most of the TBRs/SCRs/EBJs running around the queue? Or even just that you find it much more fun to play than any other mech out there. Show me your ride, guys.

Warhawk is in a weird place because of its speed. Too slow for an attack with heavies, not as good as a dire for defence.
It will be better when the IIC mechs are out, then you can make some CW decks using Warhawks and IIC mechs that are the same speed in a group drop.
