Hey Guys,
Just wanted to see peoples recommendation for other medium mechs. I own BJ1 and BJ1X. Both are fun but i want to get another medium mech. I prefer something of ballistics (BJ1 is my main trick!). Anyways I was thinking of maybe something like either the shadow hawk or enforcer. Love to see yall's opinion.

Well first I hope you've unlocked basics on three variants of the Blackjacks... After that...

I enjoyed enforcers a good bit in general. I did well in both my ENF-4R and 5P, though not nearly as well in the 5D. THe 5P in particular is a meat grinder... Until it runs out of ammo.

If you want ballistics you may want to think about Wolverines for the 6R with some nice AC5 quirks though. In comparison the Shadowhawks are more varied in builds, but lack strong quirks.

If you don't mind a clan mech... Both the new Shadowcats (though the P is not yet out except for early adopters limiting ballistics to a single arm) and Novas.Even the stormcrow has a Ballistics omni arm in both B and C versions.

Treb 7K, does dual AC5 like a boss. But no JJ. with Quirks master tier and cooldown module the AC5 cooldown is 1.04sec.

Any of the Enforcers are good for Ballistics but for some reason the 5P has a really short jump. with the new JJ buffs its still only 21m

Centurion and Wolverines are pretty good and fast to.

The BJ1 and 1 DC are 2 of my favorite cannon mechs.

Don't forget the griffins. The sparky(Hero mech) is awesome . 2N has ECM . They all can go fast and have a very big torso twist which helps spread damage. I love the Wolverines but when I played the griffins I said wow. I like to run my Mediums fast and with jump. Griffins fit this bill. Cockpit fov is very open. griffins are laser and missile boats. So, if you want ballistics go Shadowhawks ,Wolverines or enforcers.

Don't forget the Hunchbacks which could give you 3 ballistic oriented mechs (4G, 4H and Grid Iron).

edit: Also the Hunchbacks are currently on sale so they'll be dirt cheap.

I would recommend the Shadow Hawk 2K.

*can easily fit a 320+ XL engine
*turning speed quirks
*torso twist quirks
*can jump very high
*three torso mounted missile points and three torso mounted energy points, arms are for shielding

It can be a great fast brawler with MPLs and SRMs, or a great PPC poptart. It's like a (tall) Stormcrow with Jump Jets and two shield arms.

If you've already got the BJ-1 and -1X, I'd give the -3 a try to elite them out.

It's not ballistic based, but PPCs kinda handle like slow firing ACs at least.

Most builds are pretty standard, Endo-Steel, 2 PPCs (ER or stock), your choice of a pair of support lasers or a BAP, max jets, max XL Engine then double heat sinks as far as the eye can see.

I am just gonna chime in and say that I hated the griffins, no idea why but they just didnt feel right, too sluggish. If you want a really fun medium get the Stormcrow. If you dont want to do that then check out the centurion, if you like balistics that mech is for you. I prefer the zombie srm/pulse cent but they are really fun to play.

If you like ballistics, give the Wolverin WVR-6R a try. With 40% quirk on AC/5 cooldown it is a real fast-shooter....
6K with 3 LL is also quite nice and with 7K you can have a lot of fun with SRM (3X Artemis SRM6)
