So here we are again. a CW event that was unannounced resulting in massive IS queues.
Time and time again, during any CW event, the clans had quick queues while the IS waits. There are simply more IS loyalist players, then there are clans.
If they would announce these events a week or 2 in advance, some units can join the clans to even it out. Currently there is so much waiting on the IS side which could easily be fixed by allowing a brief moment (like a day) to break contract and switch sides before these events start.
Why is this not being done? I think it would be a good solution for all sides.
I typed this with 8 minutes on the timer waiting to lock in for another 10 min wait.

I agree here, surely the dev's are able to see what faction populations are like and give us a warning when we go to switch contracts.
We (Praetorian Legion) switched to Steiner last night as per our normal 2 week rotation through the Clan / IS factions, so that's a 200 person unit swapping from Clan to Inner Sphere just in time to add more numbers to an already overpopulated Inner Sphere queue.....perfecto.
I'm hoping the mechanic mentioned about sbowing faction population makes it into the phase 3 release, it may help to avoid snafu's like this and help units make educated decisions as to where to go.

I really wanted to play CW tonight with the active queues.....but there are 3 or 4 teams queued up before me on every planet.
I think the easiest solution is no penalty or downtime on breaking/switching contracts during these events. It will enhance the player experience a heck of a lot for everybody.
This is so easy to fix I really dont understand why its not being taken care of

That population imbalance existed during Tukdayidd and even Hardcore Unit Event to some extent.

Unit leadership may need to tweak their contract expiries to Friday nights. This gives a day or so after an event announcement to change your contract.
If uncontracted when making a decision hit the public teamspeaks (or other units) to check population levels.

I dunno, just give every unit 1 emergency contract swap per month and problem solved

The emergency swap would help but unit leaderships need something more important; information.
If we could see or at least have some communication from PGI as to which Factions have an imbalance we could work to police the populations ourselves. I can understand the fear of units flooding one population to allow it to overwhelm every other but at this stage I believe most units would actually prefer to spread out, so we can all get a fight and make it a better experience for EVERY player; unit and solo alike.

Not only do the faction rewards need an algorithm but the contracts themselves should also
Its probably hard to do and even harder to know how to compensate for active and inactive players

They likely do not want to show the number of unique clan and is players at this point.
The solution is to go on teamspeak and get in a 12man, then attack. LFG is helpful.
