They can also get a pay boost by joining forces and not getting rekt-o-rama'd non-stop

Really, no one will play CW no matter how much extra cbills they put in for rewards. The queue wait times are too long, dropping against no opposition after a 20 minute wait is so boring - and no reward due to nothing to kill. Then we have to wait another 20 minutes for another match. Just wasted an hour, when a team could have gotten in 4 good matches in regular play.

CW can be very profitable. That was a pug drop against a premade. over 1 million cbills earned using nothing but an adder. The key to good earnings in CW is to do a lot of damage and WIN the match. WINNING should be the #1 and only priority in CW, because thats where the earnings come from. Sure cbill boost mechs help, but not as much as just winning the match.

Too many pugs only play for themselves in CW, and don't play as a team or to win, then they complain about losing to the big bad evil premades. What they don't understand is that they directly contributed to the loss by NOT playing as a team, and no, you don't have to be in a big unit or a 12 man premade to play as a team in CW

Wow. I never got that much money even with 10 kills.

Time-wise even if you lose (get stomped) in CW you earn more CBills. I rarely played a CW match which lasted for the entire 30 minutes. Usually its 18 to 25 minutes. Plus you can level 4 mechs on the same drop and gain loyalty points (which will eventually earn you more C-Bills, more GXP, a few MC's, and most importantly mechbays).

You can farm more cbills in Pub games only if you drop solo. If you group launch in Pubs then you will have to wait for the match to finish before you can play again (now imagine if you die first and that last pug who was not in your drop plays hide and seek until the end of the match). In CW, if you die first you just wait for 30 seconds then you can drop again with another mech.

CW is best played in a group. The bigger the group the better. If you manage to form up a 12-man it will speed up queue time. And not all the time the queues in pub matches are fast. Especially when you are in a group of less than 8 player the queue time takes long as well.

If you are going 20 minutes and getting turret walk after turret walk then you are not using the tools PGI made to help CW. Those tools would be the numbers attack / defend as well as how many are waiting to group up.

The biggest pay out of that match looks to be the kill assists more so than anything else ... MWO pays you more for the assist than the kill, so if you can't focus and swipe large lasers everywhere in any game mode so long as some one else kills the enemy mechs for you, you will get your cbills. Kinda crappy in my opinion but whatever.

Its hard to hit a home run in CW when you are the minor league Scranton Railriders (PUGS) vs the New York Yankees (12 mans like MS)

CW is easymode right now 90% of the time. If you're not breaking 1k every single game and 1.5k almost every game, you're not being aggressive enough.

A few things to note about your post.

1) clan mechs are not superior if IS pilots choose the right (quirked) mechs and builds. Clan mechs are easier to build because hey - just bring laservomit. It's kind of hard to screw up. Balance is surprisingly good right now.
2) clan mechs do not fight better at long range than IS. IS actually out-trades clans >600m. But Clan starts to do better in the 300-600m range where they can unload full alphas.
3) Counter attack is the easiest and quickest mode to earn money because all you need to do is kill mechs. The other modes are more involved and often the games end before you get to farm all 48 enemy mechs.

If you ask anyone I usually play with what mode I have been playing lately they will answer Community Warfare (CW). The reason for this is I have found it to be very profitable. There are a few things that need to be done to make one ready for this before you start just jumping into CW on your own.

First Base:

- Pick your mechs in your drop deck wisely. Just picking mechs to level up doesn't work well and makes it tougher to get the credits you are looking for. I suggest looking at: http://metamechs.com/ (More importantly the tier 1s are what you want to try and take, but tier 2 isn't bad either.)

:)

You lost me when u suggested a site that promotes meta mech building. I refuse to play meta builds and do perfectly well anyway.

Telling people that to hit a home run they need to follow carbon copy meta builds is such drull thinking, but then i'd expect that from a sheep or that site owner.

which one are you?

This should really be stickied in CW for those to read when CW events come up.

My problem is after going down 16-2 or some such nonsense because the rest of the pugs can't shoot and spaghetti all over the place, I usually just give up and banzai. I mean, trying to hopelessly carry for the remaining 25:00 of the match just isn't fun, and just pokes my temper more. Better to get it over with, quit after death, and relax a little bit.
