If you want to donate. DONATE.

Don't bloody ask for compensation for charity work...

I do not support Sarah's IIC Jenner.
Because there is no such thing.

Sarah's Jenner was a one time special event for a little girl that died before her time who had played Mechwarrior with her Dad and liked the Jenner. It was a very special and memorable action taken by PGI ... and that is it. Period. At least in my opinion.
It is not an opportunity to create charity mechs that she had never seen ... for which there is no connection at all.
PGI is a company that is in the business to make money. I applaud them for creating custom textures in this case and selling it for charity. If they wish to run other charity events then I will cheer them on. However, it is their resources put into these causes even if it is our money that ends up being donated. Charity sales might also take away from the sales that keep them in business ... though I don't think that was the case with Sarah's Jenner.
Anyway, I agree with the poster above who says that if you want to donate ... just do it. If an opportunity comes along at some point to purchase a charity mech in the future then by all means do so if you want ... but the charities could use that $10.00 more now that at some uncertain future time.

Here's some downloadable Sarah Jenner stickers to compensate you for your donation!
Print them on some sticky paper, and cut them out!

Oh yeah, but that's not good enough I guess. I bet you want a mech, right? Yeah I thought so. Because it's not as simple as receiving any kind of compensation. No, you only want to "donate" based entirely on what's at the end of the rainbow.
See, there comes a point when it no longer becomes a donation, and instead becomes a purchase.
The point where it transitions is when you make the donation entirely based on whether you want the item or not - when the only thing that is making you "donate" is the "compensation" you receive, rather than the simple good will of donating.

She liked the Raven 3L. I remember reading the little deal before someone at PGI remembered 3L were broken and switched it to Jenner. But her favorite mech was the Raven 3L.

I'm confused, someone was saying how the Jenner (S) variant was not quirked for how she played it.
I missed the whole thing. Forgive me.

Really? That certainly makes the whole Sarah's Jenner thing feel a lot less significant.

Of course not. But it's kind of like when someone tells you "Did you know that Japan is still formally at war with Korea after WW2?" Unless I can immediately verify or deny the fact, I'll just go "Oh, that's interesting."
I don't go "What are your sources?" or "I'm sorry, I am not convinced by your unsubstantiated claim. Good day sir!"
I maintain a healthy bit of skepticism, but I keep it to myself

No, she liked the Jenner.
For some reason Kyle Polulak used an image of a Raven in a field of dandelions in the original announcement, but here's what that original announcement says (emphasis mine):
Quote
Sarah's favourite Mech chassis was the Jenner with streak SRMs, because she liked to lock on. She loved speeding around with nightvision and lots of medium lasers so she could, "get 'em good!" blazing through the Inner Sphere with her father Jon. Sarah was an excellent sport and shared her dad's passion for BattleTech.
"This one time daddy was playing his game in his big mech and he walked up to a baddy and the baddy just BLEW UP!"
In loving memory, Sarah's family and all of us here at MechWarrior Online kindly ask that you consider donating to your local Cancer Society or visit Cancer.ca to donate today.
Anyway, Sarah's Jenner was a one-off. It should't return. Let the little girl rest in peace.
Also, I remember them saying it was a huge legal and bureaucratic mess to do such a drive, and I distinctly got the feeling it would have to be something very special for them to attempt it again.
