Pay attention, kids. Im tired of recommending some type of defense when all the Puggles go run to the center or NASCAR, so, i did this:
Summoner or Stormcrow(got them a while ago, havent levelled them...great opportunity here) with all Streaks.
Team runs off to wherever, i sit about 400m away from base and powerdown. Tee Hee...
BASE IS UNDER ATTACK
Power up.
1 or 2 Easy Kills...usually ACs.
CAN be done with IS mechs but not with Streaks. Rather, have a big alpha, and RIP THOSE LEGS.
One guy was in my base, i waited 30 seconds he went AFK, lols. Cut his leg off in my Banshee-S then stood right behind him. He came back and freaked, wish my potato could cap vids... 2Spooky4Lights...
I cant be the only scrub who thought of this.

lolk.
Putting aside the adrenaline rush of moving so fast in something you know can be obliterated in one shot, which is its own reward in and of itself? Light piloting is a different play style than mediums or heavies, let alone assaults, but unrewarding? God, if pulling down 350k-450k CB rewards per game is unrewarding, or walking out of more 600-800 damage games than I care to admit feels balanced is unrewarding, than I shudder to think what is.
It is unrewarding to pilot a light mech without a brain like a huge chunk of the light player population was doing before the most recent set of HSR improvements. It is unrewarding to pilot a light mech like you would any heavier mech. In both cases you wind up dead in a real hurry. However, if you pilot a light mech right? Especially one with this kind of firepower? You can be game changing. The only thing that makes me feel not terrible is knowing the FS9 was getting away with this level of firepower on a faster burning laser on a faster chassis for so long, and the comeuppance of preying on the many subpar light pilots is delicious.
And to put some money where my mouth is?
Oh. It is very, very rewarding.

Remember, its a Pug and the fast squishy ones will leave the slow powerful ones behind.
yeah it's a pug and i saw 3-4 assaults in a row how the whole team went straight to the base, especially on the canadian server

Just had to pour almost 100 damage into one to kill it (i'm serious: 3x33 damage alphas with IS LPLs, all center mass, at almost point blank range... and it was already cored and legged).
I did it to test it's resistance more than anything else (my assault was at almost full armor, i was basicaly toying with it): those things are unnaturaly resistant. They are like the Firestarters of old.
I will take great delight in killing them, and when they come out for c-bills, to drive them.
Edit: not trying to say they are OP. They get legged like any other light. But my god, are they annoying!
Agreed. They are almost pre-HSR Spider in some ways. The only reliable way of killing them is to leg them. I've seen multiple instances of ACHs taking massive laser alphas to center mass and walking away barely scratched. I spectated a Blackjack unload 2 LPLs and 2 MLs into a shut-down ACH at point blank, *twice*, and it walked away. I once unloaded 6 shots from C-LPLs, along with two salvos of 2xCSRM4 into an ACH and all I did was remove its ST armor. PPCs, Gauss, ACs, and Streaks work, but don't bother with lasers.

Frankly, it feels about the same shooting an ACH as it does an FS9 now. Similar size, similar speed, similar durability. Hit detection is about equally wonky. A lot easier to kill them on equal footing, unless you are packing some serious PPFLD. In any case, aim low. Chop the legs off. Doubly important with the Clan XL giving the torso durability that the FS9 lacks. The longer it moves, the longer it lives.

Like a Firestarter you cant expect to break 1000 damage if you have Cerebral Palsy so it probably wont get nerfed. [Redacted]

To be clear, I am liking your comment due to what you mean, not because of what you said. I don't think it was nice of you to compare the MWO playerbase with parkinson or cerebral palsy patients in any way, shape, or form.
I mean, you just insulted an entire group of people with legitimate medical issues.

So, did the Cheetah craze die off already? Or is there something that I'm not getting here...?
Is it a mystery?
For all of the derps who can't pilot their mechs, get back cored and complain about light mechs on the forums - lights have been and continue to be the weakest class of mechs in the game.
When there is an event on and you need to grind out 100+ matches with 30 match scores, players who want to be consistent will take something with real firepower and real armor that can actually carry matches.
Not a mech that needs to get inside 200m to be effective with 30 tonner armor.

ahc is a great vulture and so can earn reliably high scores
also if you pack 4 ml (a classic mlx build) it's a medium range build and i saw it performing fantastic too
also i still see 5+ ahc per match
