The Battle of Tukayyid was a victory for Clans over the Inner Sphere, and for Clan Wolf over the other Clans. It was an event that shook the Inner Sphere to its core and one that would change the course of history forever...[see Preface]
...some would say it was ilKhan Ulric Kerensky's brilliant idea to radically break from Clan tradition and hire the Inner Sphere's own mercenary units to bolster his forces at Tukayyid...[see chapter 7 "The 100 Trials of ilKhan Kerensky"]
...The controversial Executive Order 69-13 by ComStar Primus Myndo Waterly to withhold some 60% of the ComGuards and their advanced equipment is widely stated to be one of the deciding factors in the Clan victory...the multi-national task force assembled from Inner Sphere militaries was unable to hold their objectives, largely hampered by break-downs in communication and chain of command...[see chapter 13 "Command Structures of the Inner Sphere"]
...The death of Precentor Martial Anastasius Focht during the last stand of ComStar's elite 278th Division signaled the end of the Battle of Tukayyid...the surviving Inner Sphere forces retreated under hegira offered by ilKhan Kerensky...after several weeks under often inhumane conditions, many captured Inner Sphere troops were ransomed back...another radical break from tradition, however many speculate it was a final insult by the Clans not to take any bondsman from the defeated army...[see chapter 21 "Hegira" and chapter 22 "Jade Falcon Death Camps"]
...they further accused that Primus Waterly's mysterious death was an assassination carried out by a team consisting of operatives from Loki, DEST, MI-6, and even Mech support from the Death Commandos as retaliation for Executive Order 69-13...with tacit approval from Precentor Dieron Sharilar Mori, who succeeded Waterly as Primus. These accusations were never proven, but it were a deciding factor in the eventual schism of ComStar and the Word of Blake...[see chapter 30 "Operation Meerkat" and chapter 31 "The Schism Begins"]
While awarded Terra for their victory at Tukayyid, the Federated Commonwealth stood to oppose Clan Wolf's drive, however the voluntary Absorption of Clan Ghost Bear into Clan Wolf allowed Clan Wolf to double its territory and use former Ghost Bear unit to garrison their rear while Wolf frontline units made their drive to Terra...this prompted Clans Jade Falcon and Smoke Jaguar to attacked both the Inner Sphere and Clan Wolf, their dissatisfaction with ilKhan Kerensky's reforms and the FedCom resistance pushed them to attack...[see chapter 43 "The Ghost Bear Absorption"]
...the Jade Falcons saw Steiner interference as a violation of the Tukayyid decision and began a massive offensive into Lyran space, driving to within 2 Jumps of Tharkad itself. This isolated the majority of the LCAF into an area of space what was dubbed "Fort Wyatt" for the planet that served as HQ for the stranded forces. The defense of "Fort Wyatt" caused the Jade Falcon offensive to buttonhook down into territory owned by the Free Worlds League as Jade Falcon warriors sought to test themselves against both the hardened veterans inside "Fort Wyatt" space and the "unblooded" FWLM forces...[see chapter 50 "The Defense of Fort Wyatt"]
...Despite the Jade Falcon opinion that the FWLM military was an untested force, the various units had indeed been battle tested before. The Battle of Tukayyid and the Schism of ComStar led to an unfortunate thinning of the FWLM's ranks. However, a drive to rebuild lost units and recruit loyal mercenaries had been underway for some time and the Jade Falcon invasion led to several illustrious units declaring their loyalty to House Marik...[see chapter 57 "Rebuilding the FWLM"]
....the stalemate on the Liao/Davion border continued for some time. Both factions excelled in defensive actions and the veritable meat-grinders on worlds like Wazan and Elnath stymied the offensive capabilities of both the CCAF and AFFS...It is interesting to note that [both] factions allowed (closely monitored) travel within their borders to worlds beset by the Clans. Liao forces would travel through the "Silk Road" to assist besieged Draconis Combine worlds, while Davion forces were allowed to move forces into Capellan space to circumvent the Clan Wolf and Jade Falcon Occupation Zones in order to aid Lyran military efforts...[see chapter 62 "The Iron Curtain" and chapter 70 "The Silk Road"]
....Of all the borders in the Inner Sphere the most volatile was without a doubt the one shared by House Kurita and Clan Smoke Jaguar. For a period of time it seemed the Jaguars were at risk of being Absorbed themselves after the deaths of Khan Leo Showers pre-Tukayyid and Lincoln Osis post-Tukayyid. However, some speculate the Smoke Jaguars were revitalized by Clan Wolf's drive to Terra and they struck back regaining several worlds from both the Wolves and the Combine...In a two-prong offensive that somewhat mirrored Clan Jade Falcon's they advanced towards Terra and into Combine space towards Luthien....the border has swayed back and forth several times during the invasion with no clear advantage to either side...[see chapter 78 "The Dragon's Dance" and chapter 80 "The Jaguar Awakes"]
Of all the Inner Sphere Factions, no nation has ever been in as much danger of annihilation as the Free Rasalhague Republic. Having barely recovered from the Ronin War, the KungsArme of the FRR was, like the rest of the Inner Sphere, ill-prepared for the Clan Invasion...despite several setbacks and triumphs the FRR still survives, if barely...Deep in the heart of the Clan Occupation Zone, the KungsArme had become masters of counter-Clan warfare, rivaled only by the DCMS of House Kurita...because they are under constant siege, the FRR has been unable to regain much territory...the sheer number of casualties inflicted by defending FRR forces and the knowledge that any world taken will soon be counter attacked...many a Clan Star Colonel would make the decision to seek glory elsewhere...[see chapter 91 "Rasalhague Resists"]
