I have the Raven variants L, 4X and H. Is it worth to buy the 2X or does it play similar to the rest?
Thanks in advance for advise

In the hands of a skilled warrior, the Raven 2x can still get the job done.

If you're going to spend money on the Huginn and you're not waiting for a Hero sale, then you might want to consider buying the mastery bundle. For the cost of the Huginn plus 30 days of premium time (double the cost of the Huginn alone) you get the 3L Champion, 4X, and the Huginn hero, along with mechbays for all of them and 30 days of premium time. More expensive but a good value.

Out of all the variants I had I struggled to figure out the 2X the most. Really what it boils down to is a hit and run mech with range and speed. Those high laser points are perfect for peeking over things. Caldera you can wreck house. I remember getting an 800 dmg game with it.
Maybe its just because I ran the ECM variant like I do the Hughin as a face hugger (SRMs and MLs), but it definitely took time to get used to the 2X.

Out of all the mechs to fall in love with you picked a great one.
I may be biased though as I can perfectly visualize the Raven in the Mechcommander opening cinematic taking down that Mad Cat from the rear.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. Post-quirks, I've had so much fun with it, I bought a second one for a total of six Ravens.

The Raven is the most beautiful light mech in the game, and the RVN-2X is the most beautiful of all Ravens. But if you just slap 3 large lasers on that thing like some meta-chasing casual, you're missing out. Put the XL275 in there and fly! Fly like the wind!

Well, it was the most beautiful light in the game. Dynamic geometry hasn't been as unkind to the Raven as it has to some others, but man, look at how gorgeous it used to be:

Those lasers, hnnng.
The 2X has always been my favourite Raven, used to run it with SRMs and MLs before quirks, and then 2LL 2ML after quirks, and it did very well with both. Unfortunately, in the last major quirk pass, PGI saw fit to nerf the 2X heavily for some reason, so while it's still good, it's no longer what it was.

Not only did they nerf it, they pigeonholed it as a sniper by increasing structure for the torso and taking away structure points from the legs. Any normal player will take this as an indication that the RVN-2X is no longer meant to be used in short range engagements where its legs are exposed. And due to its laser quirks, 3LL is the obvious choice.
Another sterling example of PGI failing to use quirks in the one way quirks are actually useful: to promote variation. They could have given the RVN-2X some serious SRM6-quirks, such as 30% heat reduction and 30% lower cooldown, which would have incentivized the combination of SRMs and lasers. Since it only has one missile hardpoint, SRM-boating is impossible. But instead, PGI almost always gives quirks that encourage boating. It's frustrating.

The 2x is my favorite Raven. Just cram 2 LLAS and 2 MLAS in there with a max sized engine and go to town.

The 3L is overrated IMO, I don't know why people put so much stock into ECM.

Lucky for him, the HSR worked that time.

Far too many players use it as the cowardly sniper. Heard of a certain Rayj? He has only 1 playstyle and that is to hide and try to snipe the enemy team when they are engaging his teammates. He doesn't scout, he doesn't sight, he won't distract, he doesn't do jack **** but attempt to take safe pot shots at the other team.
He's always the last player alive in any game I seen him in. His own teammates hate him for his lackluster contribution, plus the fact that he thinks so highly of himself that he blames the team for losing and that its never his fault despite his lazy contribution.
Sad to say he's not the only such player around, but I remember him especially because he mocks his teammates when they complain about what he does.
He also hides when he's the last mech alive. He claims to still be looking for a chance to win but that's unbelievable. I have not actually seem him make the effort. The moment he's the last mech standing, not one of us ever takes dmg at any point. He will not risk giving away his position no matter what.

Nope
I just sold mine earlier today
Unless it has jump jets it’s a waste of your time
There are not enough quirks in the world that would make 80% of all IS Mech any good
