Just a little friendly FYI: While this part of our hymn is not forbidden anymore, you will get some sceptic looks if you sing it here. And if you are unlucky, you'll get beat up.
Since the text was originally meant to glorify the unity of all german states (In the sense of Germany above everything = To have a unified germany is our priority) it was abused by "The {Godwin's Law}" to LITERALLY mean Germany above every other country.

The other parts of the hymn are more beautifl anyways. We sing the third stanza usually.

Edit: Thanks MWO for censoring my little lesson in "Fun with flags". What was changed to "Godwins Law" was originally the political party of the beard-wearing evil-doer.

We often kind of leave those guys out of the party.

Or we could go with the globalist idea of one flag for everyone (the all-white one...).

i mean im no belarus and i never visited it but how it's fair that rogue ukraine got its flag while cute belorussia which never murdered people of other nationalities like ukranians murdered poles in ww2 (pretty funny how they now love each other and remember katyn which was like less than 1/10 of what pro-{Godwin's Law} ukrainians did to poles) and stuff and didn't deserve its flag
