In the general spirit of the Current Primary Thread, what chassis have you revisted after a long long spate and really enjoyed?

Disclaimer, I unashamedly run meta builds with and for my team. I was a proudly high scoring poptarter and can laser vomit with the best of them; (before it was cool, lawl). However I'm a fanboy first and foremost, and can roleplay a character in the BTech universe in my head even if no one else will play along.
So if jux is casually discussing chassis and builds, 90% of the time it will be mostly lore correct instead of comp correct.

For two years I ran the bleeding edge of not wanted to get left out of anything in this game and jumped on every new chassis except the assaults (Victors notwithstanding). But now that I've slowed down; haven't really participated in any of the Corsair's "serious" stuff in awhile, and just pug for fun occasionally, I've stopped trying to 'keep up" (money has been a major issue on that count lately also :( ). But in the spirit of continuing to enjoy the game and the universe I've much affection for, I've taken to 1. rereading my still-growing BTech novel collection; and 2. Revisiting older chassis with an eye towards lore correct builds and playstyles more than anything else.

Who else does so? What mechs? What faction and character is driving them?

In my happy little land in mah noggin the guy writing the Diary of a New Centurion Pilot has had to adjust to a captured Drac Kintaro until the techs can source parts for the stupid fragile XL engine he put in his CN9.

I'm probably the only one here who does dorky crap like this aren't I?

I started looking into this when I got into MWO, but all my favourite mechs are spread out across factions, so it would have more sense to be a mercenary, if that was an option.

When I bought my first mech for MWO, I did have a fairly clear idea of the story behind the mech and my character as its pilot. But that stopped making sense when my account accumulated enough mechs to conquer a large chunk of the galaxy :P

But I do like to run builds that are as close to stock as possible with certain mechs. Most of my Clan Prime variants are stock or very close to stock. I never wanted to run the TBR after I realized how OP it was, but running the TBR Prime as a stock mech was a good compromise.

As for roleplaying... I really enjoy it, but it's just immensely difficult to find people who are actually good at it. Roleplaying is basically like co-writing a book in real time, so it requires both a tremendous amount of artistic sensibility and social skills. Most of the time, it just turns into a torrent of clichés and tropes, like Garth Erlam's fan fiction for the Jester. <shudder>

God, reading that stuff still makes my skin crawl.
