... running into a stationary mech can strip off around 4-5% of my leg armor.
Consistency please?

The worst thing is that you don't even have to run... there will be leg damage just by walking slowly, especially if a bigger mech walk into you... a little nudge is all it takes. I've killed two friendlies by just walking
First time I just backed up in a fight and took out the last leg on a light behind me, another time I rounded a corner when a little commando came running, I had no chance to stop or avoid him.. and he died too. Both times I was in a Hunchback.

My spider has had this trouble. Hasn't killed me yet but I have lost legs to the big stumbling oaf Mechs. Now I drive more careful like. Though some folks still try to pad me in narrow streets.

Perhaps you should trade in your current ride and drive a Dodge?

Back in my day a Light 'mech could get crushed by an Assault mech walking into him, not just scratch his paint a little bit. Oh, how i long for the days of good old Dragon Bowling...

Because it's part of the huge Buy Back program they have to do?

Leg damage is where I'm happy to sacrifice realism for fun. Leg damage should only occur if:
1. You fall from too high/you fall too fast from being too high.
2. An enemy runs into you.
3. The floor is lava/acid/industrial shedder.
There may be teachable moments with friendly collisions, but that will come with learning to be a better pilot.

Well, I think whatever they do with collisions (and I hate it), it will also related to Friendly Fire (something I've learned to deal with). Now I think people have less of a reason to shoot each other for TK. If you mad at them, bump them. But gawd, with the collisions, and the breakable environment, and the noise. It's gotten really annoying. The other day in river city, I was walking in a raven. I saw those (used to be unbreakable) statues and ran into them cause they pissed me off. Ran over all 6 (8?) of them. I got yellow in all my torso and leg armor. I was down to 98%. This plain sucks. Gonna go hide in a flat area where there's no cover and let people lurm me.
