It would be nice if the MechWarrior Tactics Founders will got a free pass to the new game.

(PGI are licencing the MWO art and 3D packages.)

Not yet. There will only be an issue if...

1) Most of the "whales" and hardcore fans of MWO are old BattleTech fanatics.

2) Most of those in No. 1 prefer turn-based combat (just like the tabletop game) to first-person shooters.
