How do i upgrade FF to ES to my mech .. there is a field called upgrade in the mech picture to the left, but the only thing i seem to be able to upgrade is artemis instead of standard. The rest doesnt work ...
anyone an idea?

You may have one of two problems. First, if it is an Inner Sphere mech, you may not have enough space available. You'll need 14 empty slots for this upgrade. Second, if it is a clan mech, you cannot make changes to the chassis which would include the engine, structure type, and armor type.
