1. Leopard. 4 mech lance, 2 aerospace fighters, can fly like an airplane, and can land both vertically and horizontally (vertical is used mostly on airless worlds with low gravity). The size of a double wide jumbo jet.
2. Union. 12 mech company, 2 aerospace fighters, lands vertically, is essentially a giant spherical rocket ship the size of a small skyscraper.
3. Overlord, 36 mech battalion, 6 aerospace fighters, lands vertically, is essentially an even bigger egg shaped rocket ship than the Union.
I think I own around 80 mechs or so, but I have always like the Union. For me I think about an equal number of Unions and Leopards. I'm not a fan of the Overlord. Too big and I prefer to spread out the pain if a dropship gets destroyed (in the board games that is, I have had that happen).
You'd have to invest a ridiculous amount of money in jumpships if you're going to use that many Union dropships.
