Historically, Champions have been priced at 25% more than the cost of the standard version, but in Kanajashi's overview he said they would be changing price to reflect actual loadouts.

Yeah, and the two new ones follow that same (dumb) formula...

Champion mech prices will not change, as per the Patch Notes, "...the prices of the re-designed Champion 'Mechs have not been changed from their original values."
So, unless someone has a more recent source that says otherwise...?

Kanajashi did indicate otherwise, but he's apparently not infallible.

While I'm sure Kanajashi is reporting things to the best of his understanding, that doesn't preclude the idea that there may have been a miscommunication, or perhaps a change on PGI's side of things after Kanajashi finished his overview.
For now, I'm going to consider what's in the patch notes as the way it's going to be unless something definitive contradicts it.

Oh, yeah. I just didn't read the pricing details in the patch notes because I have no intention of buying any of these.

Neither do I, to be honest.
Anyway, Kanajashi responded to my comment on the YouTube vid, and he says he misread the patch notes. Mistakes happen.

They are just upgraded versions of stock mechs with a +30% XP bonus. Upgraded meaning they have DHS, better engines, and so on. Builds for them have been posted on the forums for awhile now. Otherwise they are exactly the same as their c-bill counterparts in terms of quirks and performance.

30% more XP, some minor speed tweeks. Other than that it's a regular mech.
Minor speed tweaks? Huh?
Champion mechs have a 30% XP bonus and come with an MWO-ready loadout (as opposed to stock TT builds) that includes upgrades, reasonable armor and a useful weapons mix (well, after this afternoon's patch, they've been pretty hit or miss in the past).
