Since I don't see a topic yet on these forums, I present to you the in-game model of the Mauler:

Yes, I realize there is an instagram post (which links to another thread, which then links to their instagram). I am referring simply to the model for this specific mech. Usually people are ape-**** over mech previews when they hit the deck. :-P

Yeah, I like it overall, the only thing I don't like is the arms. The arms don't look anything like the concept art.

Just my opinion. Too big up top, too narrow at the waist. If Barbie was a mech she would probably match those designs.

I liked the "potbellied linebacker" Mauler from previous games.

Minus the barrels, those arms belong on the Awesome.

I'd like to see how it looks without the max-count missile launchers.

If those shoulder ones shrink even a little, it might be OK.

They're all "armed" identically, with maxed weapon ports, which I'm guessing is for the skinner to work around for each variant. This clip is just meant to show the Resistance skins.

Looks like the third Ballistic slot is right on the beltline... even lower than the arm mounts. Nice big guns, as people seem to want. Interestingly, I'm not seeing a third Missile mount... maybe they're just leaving it at two visible and making the third common fire. Beats the hell out of tacked-on VCR boxes, anyways. Sadly, those launchers lack the sculpted, integrated look of the concept art.

Definitely more wasp-waisted than I would have liked from a Mauler, but that bulk is made up for in spades at the shoulder. No chance this Mech is in any way XL friendly. Can prolly roll damage like a champ, though, even using those massive plates to catch damage on the arms. If LRMs are ever fixed, this could be one mighty machine... and if frogs had wings, they wouldn't bump their ass when they hopped.

The missile racks are defining, but I suspect they will "go away" when missiles are missing.

However, it looks eerily like an oversized Griffin based on the arms. It looks like the arms will be able to shield stuff (and AFAIK the arms are not the focal point hardpoint-wise, with some exceptions).

I feel like the only one who is fine with virtually any new release of a mech aesthetically.
