My suggestion is that there should be 2 additional spectator slots, one on each team, but they are restricted to viewing only the team they are attached to. But they wouldn't get the free floating spectator camera, instead they just see the action from the same perspective as a mechwarrior that has been destroyed in the match. Also, they should be able to interact with the battle grid and give commands. Bonus points if they can use the mouse directly on the game screen to give orders instead of only requiring it from the battle grid.

This could then be used as a dedicated Company Commander position!
