When I booted up the game after downloading the patch, the screenshots of the mechs in my mechbay looked fine, albeit they lacked most of my custom paint schemes. After I changed their camo schemes and saved to update the screenshots, the new ones look like they were taken with a bright saturating flash that makes every mech look almost white. I think the dynamic screenshot feature needs some adjustments to colour reproduction...

Both the gamma- and brightness-sliders were broken prior to this patch. Now they have been fixed.
Check if your settings may be too high, adjust and then configure your 'mechs again. The new thumbnail should have correct brightness and gamma.

i have my gamma at max so i can see on night maps (river city only at the moment) so i really don't want to have to screw with my settings every time i want to take a thumbnail of my mechs

still there's no reason why the screenshot would be a lot more washed out than the hanger view

Set your gamma at the lowest and play like a real man!

Real men don't need to see a game to play it.

Real men are blind.

There's plenty of threads on this already, but the problem is this:

The thumbnail is taking a screenshot, with gamma/brightness sliders applied to it. Then when you are in the select mech screen, it's applying the gamma/brightness sliders to everything, including the thumbnails. So they are getting the effect twice. Hence the washed out colors.

The fix being proposed by users like myself is to use the default 0.5 brightness and gamma settings when taking the thumbnail screenshots.
