I like most of it but the head sticks out a bit much for me plus I liked the angled look of the concept over the blocky head on the model.

looks like it is being made by the same modeler as the Enforcer, judging by the head. Poor Black Knight.

PGI is probably trying not to make another Enforcer where it looks like the head is buried down into the chassis *shrug*.

and yet after burying it into the chassis, they gumby stretched it up to look like a bobble head.

Eh... Part of me wishes, we'd be getting mechs without getting to see the concept arts.
Maybe we wouldn't be as disappointed -_-

It's still a better translation than the Quickdraw (which is by far the worst one of the lot)

I don't know, I still think it looks OK. I think that "long face shield" might look better once the mech has a texture applied (vs that shiny grey nothing). As it stands now, today, I think it looks OK.

It's one of those time will tell things for me. I thought the Enforcer looked good at first, over time it has lost it's visual appeal. I also thought the Vindicator was ugly at first (still kinda is with it's "hood" draped over the cockpit), but the Vindicator's looks grew on me.

Lastly, even the concept art head on the C-Bill variants never looked that great to me, I'm more interested in the Resistance model. I always liked that head better anyway (even if it is a bit more generic looking).

really, aside from the head, the Enforcer came out well, I thought. What dumbfound sme is comments like Russ "i think it look just like the concept art"........

which leaves me to wonder if he only ever looks at things on his phone or something, sometimes, lol. Ah well, it is what it is. SOme translate well, some translate not so well, and then there is everything in between. Very few mechs come out as perfect as the old K2.... and then they go and ruin those anyhow, lol.

I find the Atlas also a masterpiece. But opinions may disagree.

One of the best reworks...Just brutal.

Only downside is perhaps it looks like a 200 ton instead of 100.

A lot of things Russ claims is fine, when it isn't. Although, the head issue is very similar to the Orion and now the Black Knight.

Maybe he needs Lasik surgery? (Sorry, couldn't help referencing that other thread.)

yeah, that's more a scaling fail than anything. But a more correct 13 meter scale, would have required a commensurately larger head (like the older arts) and probably looked less menacing.

Yep, it's pretty unique in this regard. It's hard to find any other mech in the game with such an exposed head, except maybe the Commando.

Well, even with the current 17 meter tall Atlas, the head is too small to accommodate the cockpit in the eye.
If it was in the center of the head, then yes, it'd fit, but the eye? Not a chance.

(Same problem with the commando. The head is too small to accommodate the off-center cockpit, which could be fixed if the cockpit was in the middle of the head (it'd lose the monocle look though, which for some would be an improvement, to be honest)

Black Knight looks like a 75t Enforcer...

Which I think is fine if it gets the same scaling treatment. It probably won't look pretty, but if it's small and compact I won't complain.

Looks excellent to me. Nice work! The Black Knight is not an overly bulky mech.

Shoulder-line needs to come up significantly and then lower the over all torso slightly.

Otherwise it is going to look gaulky and is going to suffer from getting hit in the CT continuously before it can even bring it's own weapons to to fire.

That and it just looks better:

Kept looking at the model and starting quoting, " Previously, on Battlestar Galactica..."

If the weapon hardpoints are belly button height instead of shoulder height, it'll just be a good-looking middle of the road 'mech. It'll probably go the way of the Grasshopper (which at least had jump jets) and there aren't many of those around anymore. What the BK really needed to stand out was ECM. The Atlas D-DC got ECM because it was a "command 'mech" even though it didn't have ECM in the TROs. The standard BK was a command 'mech so it could have followed the same reasoning and gotten ECM as well. Heck, an ECM Orion would've made just as much sense.

I'd just like to see the BK a little less lanky, more like the concept art. I don't think PGI has even taken feedback from the forums while a 'mech was in progress; I think the only tweaks we've ever managed have come after release, and those have been small and infrequent.
