Arctic Cheetah not strong enough - Clan's need a mech that can death star an enemy team. It's lore!

Tis' was the weapons that were good, not the mechs.

In Mechwarrior 3+4 you could equip clan weapons to is mechs, and vice versa.

While clan tech had longer cooldowns and less weight and more heat IS tech had slower cooldowns but weighed more... and man did I always bring clan weapons if I could, I mean 10 tons for a clan lbx against 12 tons for a is lbx? I'll take the 10 tons and a little longer cooldown thank you very much.

true clan battlemechs will be next.

Kodiak and such.

Amen to that. Love the kodiak. I like the mech very much, how it looks and it's load out.

It may be no dire wolf but least it doesn't need to swap omnipods to have jump jets that make it jump high! ;)

The Night Gyr is super slow for a heavy though. Looks like it has massive torsos as well. And knowing how PGI does Clan arm mounts, expect it to be another knuckle dragger.

Due to speed brackets, it's the closest you'll get with an Omni.

54, 71, 89, 107, 124, etc...

Not much choice for the Heavies. (And yes, there are 107Kph heavies. Even Fatter Badders).

Now, Clam Battlemechs with separate ballistic locations, that's where it's at. We shouldn't be getting one of those for roughly another year.

True, but 4 JJs, 2 Gauss Rifles and 4 ERMLs should still be pretty strong, even at old meta (DS, CTF-3D) speeds.

Out of the timeline I believe.

And it's not all laser vomit, it can ballastic too. (Don't remember if there's a missile omnipod(?) )

It's post task force serpent so 3059 or 3060 and yes there are variants with misiles and balistics

Yeah, I was being a bit tongue in cheek there. But I am waiting for someone to say it. There are enough "Clan mechs need to be totally OP in every way vs IS because lore" advocates that I wouldn't be surprised. At some point, I'm hoping the power creep stops. I have 133 mechs, over 50 (edit: exaggeration) of which never see any action because they aren't interesting enough to play for fun and they aren't good enough to play for the team.

Light: Something worse than the Arctic Cheetah, so who cares?

Medium: Huntsman - Humanoid Nova with Endo/FF, 20+ tons of pod space and highly varied hardpoints.

Heavy: Night Gyr - What if the Timber Wolf had an XL300, instead of XL375? This pod space nightmare.

Assault: .Turkina - Why not?

Eventually the mix of tech will arrive at some point around a year or so after is omnis arrive (if they even allow that to happen).

Then your commandoes shall see the day of light and conquer all that stand against it(!).

Kodiak. It's all that's missing. Light i'd like to see firemoth or piranha, medium the arctic wolf (9 missile hardpoints LULZ). Heavies? don't care really i have all the clan heavies i want for the time being. But for assault, Kodiak, definitely the Kodiak. Other then that i'm looking forward to later timeline mechs like the Blood Asp and the Madcat MKII. Maybe the Stone Rhino if they offered it. But after the Mauler i'm all done paying for mechpacks. It's freebee cbill versions from here on out.

I doubt that IS Omnis are going to make a show anytime soon - There's only one IS omni that's close to our timeline, which would be the Raptor. All the others won't come by until several more years, & I don't think this game will last that long.

Whether the game lasts that long or not is a different matter of debate. In the meantime, PGI have stated that IS omnis would be introduced, when timeline appropriate. So yes, they're not coming any time soon, maybe not until 2018.

Didn't they also say they were thinking of jumping the timeline ahead to facilitate this?

I would expect the next clan mech batch to include the Kodiak, as its one of the few unreleased mechs we know PGI is working on, and once IIC clears the way it will be clear for mechs like the Kodiak and Grizzly.

I think you are wrong on that they will release the Bushwhacker, firefly, Imp, and Lancelot ... talk about PVE jump timeline a few years add new weapons to both sides...Release wolfs Dragoon, North wind highlanders mechs, ComStar mechs, 2c wave 2... jump timeline and add IS omni's............

As a hardcore fan who has spent several hundred dollars on this game, and bought mechs from Clan Wave 1, 2 and 3, I have difficulties putting into words how little I care about Wave 4.

Market saturation is real. I have about 90 mechs now, filling every category you can think of. I don't need any more mechs.

At this point, I'm wondering if mech packs is really the best long term strategy for MWO. I am struggling to understand how people are still so excited about this. Like "We have an 85 ton Clan mech and a 95 ton Clan mech, but a 90 ton Clan mech would be amazeballs!"

I don't get it. Unless you have some sort of super nostalgia-based love for a specific mech, like the Hatamoto-Chi or the Marauder, I don't get why people are still paying this much for new mechs, or why PGI expects them to. Maybe I'm underestimating how big BT is in America.

I'm with Alistair here.
All of the mechs mentioned herein are dogfaced ugly and nothing really all that exciting. Alex is amazing, but some of these... I doubt even he can make work.

And, yeah, I've got mechs a plenty. So, unless a future pack consists of Wahammer/Marauder/Archer/Crusader, I'l stick to MC/C-Bill Mechs or the occasional a la carte Splurges.
