we can assume as Russ&Paul have said that this Rebalance will include all Facets of MWO,
not just Mechs but also Weapons and Equipment, so MWO should feel different after the Balance,
also if we think of when work on this Started it dates back almost 2-3 months,
so its possible allot of work has already gone into this Rebalance,

Comprehensive Game Balance Analysis V2.

The TTK for an individual piece is instant, if you are to put that piece in a spot where it is vulnerable to attack. I'd say it actually applies pretty well in this case.
And those instakill instances are actually pretty rare for me to be honest, and its usually a dual Gauss shot to the rear (side) that does it. I am okay with how rarely that happens, it doesn't seem to dominate my game experience, and typically it is in a disorderly solo drop.

"I wont accept a battlemech in the 31st century that all the weapons dont hit what im aiming at"
"Im perfectly ok with shells coming out of barrels at 45 degree angles, because physics dont exist in the 31st century"
Seems legit.

If LRMs were changed such that firer was REQUIRED to have a line of sight to the target just like every other weapon in the game then there is a decent argument for increasing the effectiveness of LRMs on an individual basis.
You then invalidate the very reason to have indirect fire, may as well increase the speed to the same as ACs for the size of launcher, and eliminate spread or return splash damage to compensate for the loss of it's most important feature.
Congratulations you now have mechs able to make 1000m+ Streaks in packs up to 100 tubes.
I don't see this as a viable solution.
You also cannot get rid of guidance, but you could make Mech Mortars and those are 'semi guided' so you could increase the speed to say 5-600m/s, and only give them one guidance point at their apogee, a huge arc with shorter range, and splash damage and mount them as ballistics. Then you will have two weapons in two classes of weapon that handle indirect fire, thereby improving the overall game's variety. Of course, being nearly unguided, no 'incoming missile warning' or AMS either. Be grateful that in lore they did a max of 8 damage for the largest with a spread like an LB10x and they weren't the lightest thing, but not heavy either.

I think it’s unreasonable to think that PGI would completely revamp the game---Why! Because the game works now in its present form
