Has anyone heard anything as to when the test servers will be up to test this out? Much thanks in advance....

July/August was the last I heard. I think Paul was going to throw up a command post before anything else.

Have they even said what they are other than the ECM distance thing?

I got the impression they were more deeply evaluating each mech's effectiveness based on a number of factors and then balancing (quirks I guess?). Maybe they are going beyond that and changing weapon balance as well though, I am not sure. I didn't think weapon balance was that bad.. I feel like most weapons I use for one situation or another.

I'm happy they're looking at it, but nervous about the results.

I think that's right, from what i've heard.
Rather than a fixed point system like TT BV, which would be ludicrously exploitable in a game system like MWO with so many extra variables, they are going to grade each chassis overall based on factors like hitboxes, maneuverability, hardpoint locations and the number of available hardpoints.
They'll then be able to grade each mech on a scale, and use that to apply appropriate quirks.

Yeah that all sounds good. I hope if they decide they want to mess with weapon balance they make very minor changes... I would hate if the entire R2 pack suddenly became obsolete as they nerf lasers right at its release... lol

I think every system is exploitable, but im interested to see if theyre going to go down the route of trying to predict what people might do with a mech, which ultimately guides what people should do with a mech, and instead find some sort of alternative way to 'quirk' mechs.
The current system leaves alot of mechs pretty freaking left out. Catapults. Vindicators...

Are they finally adding traits in to balance quirks? or some other new ghost mechanic?
