So, I like to complete a mech I've bought before I decide I want to keep it or sell it. In this case, it was my Stalker 3F. Good mech, but I felt one of the other variants would have suited me better. I had all the elite skills unlocked, and 24K xp saved up. Then the orions went on sale and I needed that bit of extra cash to get it. I sold my 3F, under the assumption I could just get the Master skill when I finish getting the elites on my 3H, which was the third variant I had along with the 4N. Today I finally got the 3H done with elite skills, go to unlock my 3F's master, and... locked. I can't get the skill without the mech in my bays? So now I have to buy the mech back, unlock the skill, and then sell it again? That's a bit of a waste. I guess I could always wait for it to go on sale and hope I have enough to buy it on hand at the time, but still throwing money away.
Please let us buy skills on mechs we owned but don't have any more.

You're best bet is to find it as a Trial mech and unlock the skills while using the Trial version.

probably new skilltree (its being work on) would solve things like that.

Begs the question: why do you need to master a mech you don't have? Just wait until you buy it again (if you buy it again) - the XP will still be there when you return. Mastering a mech doesn't do anything to help progress other mechs of the same chassis, or even the same class, so it's not like you need it for anything unless you actually own that mech.
I don't know, am I missing something here?

Two problems with that. 1) You can't unlock skills on the trial versions, you must own the mech. 2) The trials don't rotate very often.

What else do you have in game other then buying mechs and leveling them?
