I keep hearing people complaining about the new UI, specifically how they have to go and change all their old mechs to acquire an updated PICTURE. SOME would say that this is a drag and wastes their time. I think it is a GREAT way to fix up old mechs. All your current up to date USED mechs will have shiny pictures, and your mothballed mechs are stuck in green.
I see a green stock picture mech and save money to fix it, updating it to current standards or new quirks.
Its a perfect way for my forgetful and disorganized self to know which mechs need love, or upgrades.

I'm torn... stock pics means a mech I should probably look at updating, at least the modules, just like OP mentions. But the whole custom pic thing is bothersome if I have to go thru the WHOLE BARN trying to make the UI enable the save button and waiting on loads, saves, loads...
