So.. How come skirmish/assault do not have clear attacker/defender scenarios?
They would be perfect for training for CW and would make those modes a tad bit interesting at least for me.
Or is this planned at some stage with new maps?

Attack/defence Mode?

CW is already what you want. Just play it.
If the normal games would use this concept as well, everyone would scream that they are all the same.

Sorry but players already do this! Funny thing is the ones who want a variety are in the minority.

Russ has talked about replacing Assault mode with an asymmetrical game mode where one side is defending a dropship. But they've been really quiet lately, which may suggest that they've either been busy on the Steam launch or perhaps trying to look at how to improve CW before steam launch, because CW has been bleeding players like nobody's business.
It's possible that PGI is confident that players are happy with the current public matches (conquest, assault and skirmish) and are thus focusing more on tutorials, 4v4, CW logistics and career paths, etc.
Who the hell knows. It would be nice to have vlogs talking about what we can expect to see in several months, instead of stuff that is right around the corner or stuff that has already been released.

Thanks Alistair, that's good to hear. More gamemodes can't be bad, right?
Anyways assault would be more "realistic" with one side as attackers and the other defending. And I do like to play skirmish etc as they are now.
And I do like the IDEA of CW. It's just not really there yet. Hopefully future changes are for the best

If Sean Lang is to be believed, he has been talking about a huge ground-up rebalance in the works for all mechs. That is probably taking a ton of PGI resources. Maybe once that is complete, work on a new game mode might start/resume.
