its not just spreading ... they are out right missing part of the time to. the videos and screen shots have illustrated this.

shots go under its arm and completely miss the ct .

most mechs when under fire the incoming spreads over the mech or hits it intended target. but regarding the cheetah a majority of the damage that is aimed for the ct actually ends up passing under its arms .

i would suggest that any tests, take into account for range . there is probably a sweet spot that is some where around 70 - 150m that all damage is applied but damage applied closer actually misses by going under the arms.
