I switched to Intel last November. My mother board had died and I took the opportunity to try something new. My friend has an AMD FX compatable motherboard but a inferior CPU (FX4100). He has been having issues with MWO recently so I mailed him my FX8320 that I had sitting in the basement.

Will that chip help him get better frame rates? What are some of you guys getting now with your AMD CPU's? He currently has a GTX560 and is saving for a new GPU.

I was getting 40 to 60 with it. However, that was almost a year ago and PGI has made some changes to the graphics.

I've got an 8320 overclocked to 4.0, with a 970. With the popular low-low-high-low-low-low-high settings (you know what I mean), I get about 50-75 outside of new River City. Go figure. I'd say he'll get 30-50.

FX 6300, bottlenecked by a crappy GPU (HD 6670 DDR3).

I'll change the GPU by the next Black Friday, then i'll see what happens, hope the FX don't bottleneck too much...

I've got an 8320@4.2GHz with an HD7950 and I average around 45 with minimums at around 30 fps. The minimums are all CPU limited. I find I can get another 3 or 4 fps in the winter when I don't have to worry about overheating the CPU (my air con is rubbish)

FX6350 six core 3.9ghz (didn't even bump up the clocking yet)
Max settings and with it and my GTX 650 TI Boosted I get 60 FPS on max settings.
Actually pretty much all my games I run at max and have 60+ FPS at this point.

The game is also only getting dumber on graphics and computer load. PGI is actively going backwards. My guess is they want this game to be runnable on a computer from 2005.
