After we get the Mauler, any strong guesses on which assault we can expect next?

I would donate my right nut to see the Kodiak or Hatimoto-Chi, by far the coolest mechs in my book.

But what is most likely?

Well the Highlander IIC is already announced, and then after that it will like be an IS assault mech, probably a Cyclops based on the last poll that was between a Zeus and a Cyclops.

I doubt we will see a Hatimoto-Chi in game until we get the Charger, since it's basically just a variant of the Charger.

Charger is basically banshee 2.0 isnt it?

Yeah generally.

The Hatamoto is more like a reinvented Victor.

Personally I'd like the Nightstar although the unseen Marader 2 or Longbow could be options.

I am convinced that if the unseen situation resolves itself, the next announced assault mech will be the Longbow.

Otherwise, it's probably gonna be the Cyclops, a 90 tons Atlas (meh).

The Hatamoto-Chi uses the Charger chassis. It's basically just a Charger with a smaller engine, different weapons loadouts and some Samurai looking bits tacked onto it. It really doesn't even warrant a new name except for how Kurita like to put Japanese names on their mechs.

I am not sure that we really need any more mechs. Most chassis have one or more other ones that have essentially the same gun slots. I own like 80 mechs but only actually use about 10 of them because the rest are just variants of those ten with a different outer shell.

I'd like to see the Annihilator.

You would be right if this was not a game fueled by fandom. But since it's mostly financed by the nostalgia of those dudes around 40 with loose cash in their wallets, it is important for the financial success of the game to get every last popular mech implemented, even if it's completely obsolete (or more likely, obsoleting one that's already ingame). Oh and pack it up neatly with other new shiny mechs and some doodads to provide a more pleasant shopping experience.

Don't worry, I sometimes forget this, too.

The Hatamoto-Chi is a Charger, trying to be a Thug, while desperately trying to look like neither. The Charger is not Banshee 2.0. It is a botched attempt to make an Assault class scout. It was, however, one of the best melee 'Mechs ever designed. One never wants to be on the receiving end of a Charger performing a successful charge.

Barely played MW2:GBR so I lack the Kodiak nostalgia, and was never really impressed with it in the first place.

Next assault in MWO will likely be the Cyclops, which is a lighter, faster, underarmored Atlas with a predictably lighter armament.

Charger would be cool, except for the lack of... you know physical attacks in any shape. Noticed the one call for the Annihilator, looks like a larger Urbie, giant trashcan on legs. Mad II I'd like but unseen won't be sorted out.

Honestly the unseen, and some MASSIVE changes to mechanics, would be the only thing to get me spending any money on MWO.

I do want the kodiak at some point but the IIC mechs count as clan so I'm pretty sure the pack after that will be another inner sphere pack. Sucks we have to wait til probably next summer before a new clan pack.

You forgot this guy for the Clans. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Blood_Kite

The 85 ton Lurminator that is better than the Warhawk.

We only have one 95 tonner, the Banshee. Let's get a fundamentally different 95 tonner with the Nightstar.
