Apparently I'm not the only one left in the dark with questions then, after reading all of the responses!

I used to follow this, but I am not even sure if it gets updated or not:

https://mwomercs.com/theplan#

See, I've played Forumwarrior as much if not more than I've put time in playing MW:O. I think it's because when I play MW:O, I see so much that needs addressed or unseen potential (HAH see what I did thar?) every time I play a match. So I constantly look and dig for information that PGI knows these issues exists, and have a structure, or actual detailed plan, as to what they're going to do, and in what direction they wish to take the game. All I've seen are very vague "Fedspeak-like promises" that while yes they are answers, do not explain or show how they intend to do what is being promised.

I mean, technically, we're potential investors. For whatever reason we see fit, we can throw money at them if we desire. They're not charging us, and that's fine. I'm not crying. But I, an investor, become skeptical and cautious. Aside from speculating (which is a popular thing to do in these forums) how to interpret the promised vague words, I only have how things were done from past to present to go off of, which is only from Feb. 2014 to present. But even with roughly a year and a half of experience, I can't say I'm very optimistic at all. The only specific hint of change I've seen from a dev. is that they intend on halving the ECM range... Whatever.

But if there is a solid plan, that's great... but what is it and where? I don't think that they should be secretive about it, because it leads to mistrust. If people have good news, they can't wait to share it (especially when money is involved). If it's bad news (or more of the same) then yes people will complain or people may leave... but how is that any different than waiting till the last moment? What is there to gain from that?

I appreciate the new mechs, I appreciate the new maps... but I questioned the balancing and the prioritization of the fixing of core issues involved with it. I think many of us have MANY issues regarding core game play. Above anything else, I think the community deserves to be told what exactly "The Great Rebalancing" or "Battle Value" system is going to do. I just don't feel I can invest further into a company if they can't be upfront with how they're going to change things, especially based off of previous record and timeline.

And no it hasnt alwaysa worked like this. Take off the rose colored glasses lol

Games that were broken on release BOMBED and their companies went out of business in the past. It wasnt an expected thing like it is now.

Meh... Games back then incubated in development several years before being released. You can thank the advent of high-speed internet and "demo-disks" for creating the user environment where releasing half-baked code was deemed "okay" because there was an avenue to issue patches.

FWIW... Way back when, when I got into PC gaming... we didn't have bugs. We had unintended "features". :P

Why would you spend real money on packs or hero versions of inferior mechs? Those incentives would have to be better than the rewards for kills, assists, and damage to justify them- and even then the rest of your team would get boned by your choice. Many people are expecting the large quirks to go away. Where does this leave the Locust? Hunchbacks got many good quirks, but I don't feel they are OP. This game has no roles, and nothing interesting, or of importance, to do outside of shooting other mechs. This has been a weakness of the game since Day One.

Actually I wasn't referring to Hero or Champion mechs, just the everyday run of the mill ones that will never get used unless there is some incentive to use them. It's not like everyone is running around in the best mech right now is it?

It would simply give some the incentive to use a mech that is less than optimal so they would be seen more frequently. By rewarding players for taking "roles" that might not be the typical "best alpha, best DPS" you might actually find a use for most lights.
