I can see that... yours is a position I can understand and respect.
That said if you are on PUG side of the "PUGS vs Coordinated Clans" and ever want to see how the other side lives I encourage you to check out the COMMUNITY WARFARE Subforums...

...there are literally hundreds of units to choose from, many that have a wide range of drop callers with a wide range of tactics (aggressive, defensive, situational, etc), who accept any player regardless of skill range (from the guy who just installed the game yesterday to 'Tier 1" pilots) provided they are willing to listen, learn, and apply MWO tactics as a team.
It might take some time to find the unit that is 'right for YOU' but if you DO find that unit....YOUR UNIT....it will be time well spent.
I just started the game 2 days ago.

I just started the game 2 days ago. Sounds like my freedom is being taken away already, " A Noob Friendly Community" . Side note, I have never said I am only going to play as a PUG, you don't even know who I am. But I already can see that you throw accusations around on any player who mentions the word PUG.
I am sorry if I have made you feel like your freedom is being taken away from not (not my intention). I would like to point out that I didn't claim to assume that you were on the PUG side of the PUGs vs coordinated Clans, only that if you were and want see the field from the other side of the fence where to find what very limited tools / resources PGI has provided to us (the recruitment forums).
In any event, and without 'snark' (cuz I know I can be that way at times).... I hope you find what you are looking for and that your MWO experience is a enjoyable one.

So? Why is that stopping you from joining a unit? I know of several units, including the one I am in (Robinson Rangers Brigade) that happily take new players and help them learn the game. I know I and the rest of RRB would be more than happy to show you the ropes. Click my signature if you want to know more or check out any of the faction forums on here for other units that you might like.

I do too.
I have to get two back to back games and round out about 12 kills with 2200 damage to match solo drops. No ghosts, no messing around.
Since the guys I run with tend to know how to shoot those +2000 damage games are maybe 1 in 3 or 4, 1,400-1,800 is more common so figure 600,000ish before consumables, so more like 300,000 per game, 600,000/hr.
What I make in about 25-35 minutes in the solo queue at my 140,000/match average.
So sans rewards, that leaves social aspects, since I've moved to japan thats out because they are all in bed before I get off work.
Hence very little motive to CW.

I didn't put rewards in as that is tied up with how long a match takes from joining the queue.
I didn't put a "I play CW only" because clearly then none of the reasons are stopping you from playing. Perhaps it should read what is stopping you from playing MORE CW.
I am surprised at the problems identified in the game mode being boring.

1) Boring, stale game play that is nothing but another Skirmish mode
2) Horrible map design that somehow has less variety and excitement then the Public queue
3) Long wait times
4) Lousy rewards for the time invested
5) Complete lack of match-making, resulting in endless stomps and idiocy like PUG's being put against 12-mans
6) Lack of community; bad behavior in the format, lousy "get out of my game, you worthless casual!" attitude
7) No depth or point to any of it; lots of time invested for nothing but poor rewards and frustration.

I have not included rewards because that can be tied up with a number of factors.

I love the idea of a faction for both unit-less players (lone wolves) and those damn dirty mercenaries in addition to the 6 houses and 4 clans (making for a total of 12 factions to chose from). The question is can PGI make 'lone wolves' and 'mercenaries' a fun, rewarding experience, AND have them be able to contribute to CW in a meaningful way to the House / Clan they happen to be fighting for?

I do think it possible. Though there are detractors, I still feel PGI is capable, and moving in a good direction, but I do have some concerns, hence my topic. There are still great possibilities with this game.
