Seems like some people were too good for their Elo and now face a heavy adjustment until they settle in their respective tier. I guess some people will have a rude awakening.
That's not to slander the OP, it wasn't your fault, you probably did quite well in your Elo range, now you have to face harder opposition for a time until you've found your place. 3-5 minutes was quite common in higher Elo ranges, I guess we'll see how it goes now after the introduction of the new system.

i have no problem to lower my "whatever" ranking it is. But getting 7 of 8 games total stomp, is MORE meh, then playing CW.

I've not noticed a difference. Same stomps as usual in the PUG LIFE.

Pugs be pugs.

It's going to take awhile for the tiers to normalize. Most players' historical stats were based in large part on the random nature of the old Elo system and how well they did with the randomness. I suspect a large percentage of the community is going to be plopped into a PSR tier that's not even close to their actual skill level, and it will take a lot of matches to bring PSR closer to where it should be for most.

Anyone who thought stomps would be eliminated by MM changes doesn't understand games. In fact, the higher the tier the more likely of there being stomps. Deathballs create stomps too.

Low sample size so far.

Also, people need to be aware that matched player skill isn't going to provide closer matches all on it's own. It's only a small part of the picture.

What happens in the mechlab before a fight has far more bearing on the outcome of a battle - as do the playstyles of the random strangers you are grouped with. Sometimes you'll get a bunch of above average players that simply don't mesh together. Sometimes you'll get a mech or two caught out of position and rekt early, and your team will be fighting an uphill battle from the get go. Sometimes the enemy will have a far superior position. Sometimes they'll push well. Sometimes they'll all have mechs with complimentary speeds and loadouts, and your team won't.

You're likely to see more of a 'big picture' improvement than an instantaneous one.

Still as many lopsided teams as before so far. Maybe even more.

Yeah yeah, inb4 "give it time".

We'll see if it ever adjusts.

In the few games I have had, there were no stomps, they were close games (even the one that ended 12-1), I guess I am just in the proper tier, and that it helped that I came in hours after others did so more people had floated to the proper tier.

I don't think the solo queue will magically improve despite this change.

It's going to stay that way... probably indefinitely IMO.

Dunno i'm 3 games in, 2 loses and 1 win, all games were very close and well matched, these have been the most fun games ive played in months!.
Truthfully the outcome of the game isn't really all that important, but the quality of the battle that took place certainly is.

Only after time.

With PSR, if you are not a team player, you suffer for it with a low match score. Win or lose if you do not preform well via Match Score, you will fall in ranking(Tier). Eventually they will fall so that the rest of the team players will not have to deal with them/it.

Think of the AFK with a Match Score of 0 and giggle in evil delight.

it's vice versa though
if you are a team player you usually get less score than if you care more about your personal score than of if your team wins

for sure i won't start a push/risky flanking now, won't cap far points mid game even when it's the only way to win, why i should risk getting low score to get a win for others, i will wait behind till my team softens the enemy and then i will kill damaged enemy mechs

I told all of you that the changes listed didn't fix anything because you still get matched to balance out the team it's terrible.

statistically insignificant samples are statistically insignificant samples - especially when you don't account for confounding variables. Play for more than an afternoon and revisit the matter.

I don't care if I get banned for it. From this moment I'll deliberately be getting as low a match score as possible until I feel my "PSR" is in the correct tier and I can have an enjoyable gameplay experience. I apologise to anyone who gets me on their team.
