On load, the game uses the default Windows audio device for VoIP capture and playback, instead of the device selected in the settings. The settings still reports the previously selected device as being the active one, but the game uses the default Windows audio device until you re-select device and save the setting again. However, the new device will only be used during that session, and reloading the client will cause the game to use the default Windows audio device again.

That is not specific to this release. Been that way for a long time. VERY FRUSTRATING!

I want VOIP in my head headset, not my speakers (default playback) and I have to change it every time I load the client.

Yes it is extremely annoying. Would be nice if someone from PGI would comment about this.

I posted about this issue back when VoIP was introduced. I've decided to post about it every patch, until it's fixed.

I've never been able to get in game VOIP to work. I just use C3 when I drop with my friends (almost never anymore) or nothing.
