(If you're interested in new ideas read up on this post! If you just are to jumpy and want to post your idea? Comment below RIGHT NOW!!! I would love to see what everyone has to say!)

Since I am not that good at making forum post setups this may look a little janky.

This post is an attempt to get the attention of devs or any staff team, as well as to get the community to contribute to this idea. To evolve it, and to come up with a unique feature that will draw players to this game. I understand that as a player I can't say that anything we put out as an idea will happen, but I do know that if we work together as a community it will get attention.

I'll make this in a list of things that can be done, as in new features for the most part, or upgrading things we already have.

Part one: What exactly am I talking about when I say make the game better?

Well what I mean is basically adding new features, and updating current features as stated above. Things like community warfare, and even the basic pug drops. When we think about what can make this game better people tend to think about one thing and get stuck on that. Destructible buildings, new game modes, new mechs. What I want to cover is one huge thing that can be done to make this game incredibly unique, and attract a more general gamer audience, instead of the current playerbase of mostly Mech Warrior Fans.

Part two: My own vision, as well as a buddy of mine Tornero. I was initially picturing Planetside 2 a game where there is a giant dynamic map, where players will travel to different sections in order to capture objectives or kill a certain enemy. Only with Mech Warrior, we can make it ten times bigger, and better.

We start off picturing a map like that of Planetside 2, then we evolve that concept. The concept of having a huge dynamic map that players can always go into. Many things come to mind, so I am going to create a list.

Part three: The List.

We've got our idea of a huge dynamic map, but we don't mean just one map. We mean each individual world with a large dynamic map. This starts out as a basic concept. We have all of our worlds in the galaxy. We have static maps right now. The first idea is, all worlds are different in some sort of way. Now to make it so that it doesn't take forever to design each one. We have the lesser important worlds being the majority be randomly generated. Now some may say that randomly generated worlds will have mechs stuck everywhere, this is why it would be good to design better objects. We all know how the game is now where you'll fire at a mech thinking you'll hit it then really just hit the invisible wall. Incredible frustration.

So we've got the randomly generated maps, but now comes the tougher work. Designing huge dynamic maps. Now you may think why do that with random generations. As some Mech Warriors may know some planets are more important than others. For simple examples each faction or clans capital planet. These planets are key for a faction or clan so they should have their own specially designed world. Now some may ask why design a capital if we would never fight there in Community Warfare? I will get to that soon.

We have randomly generated small planets, and then our special capital planets. What's next? The gameplay itself. There are a lot of things with Community Warfare right now that aren't fun. I understand it's in Beta but a lot of work needs to be done. However what I thought, and I'm sure many others have to is why just 12 versus 12 combat on a static map that gets very dull? So we now have our large map for each planet, of course the map sizes would vary based on planets importance. But we're talking Planetside 2 size for most. So why not have huge mech battles with hundreds of mechs? The idea is that we have factions and clans fighting over key planets that may hold a certain resource or structure that would prove incredibly useful. These would be the epic battles where you have multiple factions and clans fighting for control of this key structure.

To keep it off an incredible wall of text I'm splitting it up a bit. We have this key structure, where do the mechs drop in? Well mechs could drop in if it is an attack on a planet where they hold no ground. What I mean by that is each planet could have sectors, and different factions or clans could hold seperate sectors. I would imagine this to be the case for planets that have large amounts of key resources or important structures. Now on to the bases themselves. To make this game more unique on these planets the bases could have certain buildings that would help a faction or clan. Mech bays, air fields, or normal hangars. This could add other aspects of the game like piloting other vehicles such as elementals, tanks, and airplanes for the players. As well as add an area where Ai could spawn to defend the base, or even be sent out by players with a high enough rank within their faction or clan to attack certain areas or mechs.

You've got this huge idea in your head. Massive dynamic maps, giant mech battles, different vehicles and ai fighting by your side! I want you to picture this. You with your unit, in a 20 man group. Scouting out an area your Commander wanted to search for resources. Then out of no where an enemy unit comes around the corner searching for those same resources. A massive battle breaks out, pilots coming in to provide air support, commanders order their artillery within their base to take fire on the enemy. Mechs taking heavy damage, fire coming in everywhere. A true intense fight. Your unit is able to take down the enemy with a small amount of casualties. The commander gives the order, salvage all mechs and take the resources! The salvage bots begin taking mech parts, even metal, and gather the resources, A triumph! You get back to base your salvage bots show you the loot. Your bots were able to salvage the parts to create two working Ac20's hell yeah! You walk into your hangar, and get into your mech bay. You exit your mech and open up the Intergalactic market. Boom! You're rolling in the c-bills selling your loot to other mech warriors.

This post can go on forever, It's a little tough to try and write out my ideas. So I'll quickly go through my other ideas here. New players starting out just as a mercenary can find some simple work to do from certain factions, maybe even certain players within faction offering pay for some resources or a strike mission. These new players get to to merc work for every group and find out who they like most and weave themselve's into the galaxy. While the more established players who already have a grip, say you're in Clan Wolf like me. You've been working hard in this galaxy and you became a Star Captain. No more does it mean just a random cbill reward, you now get to build your own personal mini-base on a planet. It can hold your own mech bay, ai to defend, and of course your own personal access to the intergalactic market. Even gain access to Ai strike teams that can go out and gather small resources, and attack groups. No more having to go to the space station for the intergalactic market.

Now there is a lot here but I have even more on my mind. I would love it for everyone to post their own ideas for the game, or even evolve my idea here! I personally think something like this would make the game incredibly unique and fun as well as attract a lot of new players!
I would love to know what everyone thinks about it, as well as any other ideas.

Also If any devs do read this, I have one question which is, is there anyway I could speak my ideas to someone? Writing them in a post helps, but being able to explain in depth makes it easier.

I also understand the cost, which is why If Anything such as this was ever mentioned or talked about by a dev. If any support packages ever opened to support the extra development. I would absolutely put some money into it. And I believe other fans would as well. Let me know what you guys think, and of course if any devs read this I would love to know what you think!

Thanks for reading everyone,
Connor Magill, Out!

And with ideas like that my dream of getting maps as big as Chernarus from ArmA2 might get a micron or 2 closer !!!

With that being said :

Fully supporting the idea, now we need to discuss, rectify, streamline and , most importantly, communicate this monster of an idea to the right people .

Discuss away please !!!

Waaaaay to long to read... eyes bleeding... Tolkien didn't put that many words into his descriptions of grass..

Since I only skimmed your gigantic post, I can only say this..

I know you idea has merit, but I sencirely doubt that it will be put into action, for a variety of reasons. The Devs made their choice of not making huge random generated/dynamic maps when they started working on the game, and I'm not shure that Cryengine can even pull it off..

There are allready a butload of topics on this matter..

Also, the Dev's have been clear they will not change THEIR vision of the game much.. so this post is sort of a MOO POINT.

Good luck though.

Yes Build a base and defend it on critical planets, have the planet mapped out(randomly) in a 16x16 grid or 8x8 with weather conditions and heat indexes an variation across the globe making the various grids (mini Maps) having unique qualities.

Also thinking more directly about CW the use of Faction Funds to build special bases on owned planets and funding the production of drop ships and the wear and tear of said drop ships to help focus a clan and the utilization of its resources. Also thinking that the capture of zones within a planet and or the whole planet helps bring in resources such as C-bills, specialized training, repair, and a host of simple functions to create a far more dynamic atmosphere for the CW game settings.

Another additive would be for less than habitable planets that have terribly hot zones for the current owner of the planet to have heat bonuses for fighting on the planet. Also strategic reinforcements which can call in more players to drop and defend on or in certain planets, as well as weapon re-loaders and repair bays for base defenders (mech will be powered down for those times...and in those bays a long time).

Yes I can go on more as well, this is the tip of the spear stuff, that I would be a massive fanatic, jones-ing to play as soon as I got home etc...I just might starve myself (ok maybe not), but you get my drift.
